One of my most chuddish opinions is that I think at least some people who say "misandry isn't real" don't actually believe it, they just don't like it when people have the language to criticize their preferred form of arbitrary cruelty.

I don't think that misandry is real (like racism against white people). However, I do think that in our push for equality and accountability, the way we talk about men in general is going to need to shift and evolve. Some of the old habits are aging horribly.

@TigoODonnell Honestly the movie is close enough to simulating a Batman comic I can see why they don't want to go the distance and have Mr Freeze ice skating around Gotham. It would all kinda be too much.
Keeping the story grounded while elevating the rest of the movie might be the right call.

Don’t be foolish, there’s definitely superhero fatigue.
The MCU got away with “mediocre movie fatigue” for the longest time because it was the hottest ticket in town. You had to be there for the next movie no matter what.
DC was always playing catch up and every time they had momentum, it came crumbling down.
The only difference now is people are drawn to more alternative options to CBMs.
The “prestige blockbuster” is what sells outside of the A-list characters.
This year will be the test!
