@__GT___ @20splentyforus You are complaint about having to slow down going through small villages? Unless you remove all roundabouts, traffic lights and junctions too, it makes zero difference to journey time.

If only we could take 3 countries with the same cars, laws, etc, change most 30mph speed limits to 20mph in one of them and measure the results. Wales did that and now a Senedd Research report has shown how casualties dropped, -23.8% compared to England -5.2% and Scotland +3.1%. #20splenty

If everyone panic buys, there will be shortages in the shops. If you don't panic buy you'll be doing your bit to help prevent that. But you risk going without while others get everything. That was the lesson of the pandemic. It may be about to be repeated thanks to Trump's war.

@chris_harrod @__GT___ @20splentyforus Yes, if they have an associated TRO, and the proper signage, they are mandatory. If not, they aren’t. On that commute, I’m sure it makes zero difference when you are stuck in a queue :)

@volcaholic1 As a former virologist…I’m sure we moved viruses around on a daily basis. I’m sure I took some harmless ones on the bus! Frozen at -70c.

🚨 Unauthorized Transport of Virus Samples at Unicamp According to reports, at least 24 virus types were illegally transported between labs at Unicamp in Campinas, Brazil. Human viruses included dengue, chikungunya, Zika, herpes, Epstein‑Barr, human coronavirus, and others, plus 13 animal-infecting viruses. The samples were moved about 350 m through campus corridors and classrooms without authorization. Much of the material was later recovered in a bio‑freezer at the Faculty of Food Engineering, with no evidence of viruses leaving university grounds. A professor and her husband are central to the investigation, facing charges including irregular transport of biological material and endangering public health. The incident was first noticed on 13 February 2026, and while authorities label it isolated, it raises serious biosafety concerns.

‼️ EXPRESS RECOMMENDS CONSERVATIVE VOTE IN EASTWOOD ‼️ @ScotExpress has issued the following advice to pro-UK supporters in Eastwood, "Vote for the Conservatives and Jackson Carlaw". By voting @ScotTories, people in Eastwood can help stop the SNP from winning a majority and claiming the constituency as part of a mandate for a divisive indyref2. To keep Eastwood out of SNP hands, vote for me as the Scottish Conservative & Unionist candidate on Thursday 7th May. scottishdailyexpress.co.uk/news/politics/…

@__GT___ @20splentyforus The majority of towns in Scotland do not have a 20mph limit. There may be areas eg at schools, but it's not a blanket limit. Not sure it's legally enforceable either, it's more of a suggestion.

@20splentyforus Ironically, your data proves that 20 limits don't work. They majority of towns in Scotland have a 20 limit and you've quoted stats showing casualties are up. We all know congestion is up, journey times increased by 50% and with the higher revs needed at 20, pollution is up.

@volcaholic1 I now assume the vast majority of accounts without a proper name taking part in political arguments are just bots. Unless they've been registered a long time. If you look at a profile, all the posts/likes are essentially a single topic, it's a bit of a giveaway. Or v. worrying!

Ladies and gents, this is how easy it is to run automated AI at scale. Not just comments… entire accounts, posts and conversations. Next time you’re arguing, ask yourself who or what you’re actually replying to. Posts, replies, interactions… all automated. They follow trends, blend in and keep engagement going nonstop. And most people don’t even realise.

@joe_yer99 AI can do everything! To be fair in just back from the town and I don’t think people take dressing appropriately for the weather seriously enough. Obviously the SNP’s fault.

@lewis_goodall @Helenus_ @Channel4 I wouldn’t want them anywhere near power in Scotland, but for telling us what to do, they are the best of a bad bunch in England! Do you honestly think he’s worse than contender since Gordon Brown? You are just pandering to the far right.

It’s pretty straightforward. There were programmes about Boris Johnson and his problems when he was prime minister. There wasn’t time to make any programmes about Liz Truss when she was prime minister. And Keir Starmer is the prime minister now. Whether you like it or not Keir Starmer is historically unpopular. The programme is not a hit job. It’s asking why his premiership has been so rocky, despite his majority. It looks at his failings, of course, but also the wider structural problems afflicting all of our recent prime ministers and asks if there are system things about politics which ought to change. These are all entirely legitimate lines of journalistic enquiry.

There's a programme starting on @Channel4 right now called 'Keir Starmer: Where did it Go Wrong?' Saying he's the most unpopular Prime Minister ever, and asking if Britain has become 'ungovernable' @lewis_goodall Sorry, WHAT?? What about Boris, Truss? This is a nasty hit job.

Delighted to attend the launch of the new defibrillator at Giffnock Primary School - driven by the Parent Council, with strong support from parents, pupils & staff. Installed on the outside railings for public access and now listed on DefibFinder. #Giffnock #Defib #cprSavesLives

@joel_ca_c I made the mistake of looking for “over 50s workout” last week, and my targetted ads now include incontinence pants, a chastity belt and an armoured troop carrier.

@lasercow Yeah it's been interesting to watch it emerge, although with arguably mixed success. The new uni campus on the old Western site making a big impact now, and Yorkhill set to change in the coming years, will be interesting to see how it all comes together
