@SoufianeKHIAT @tetsuoai I've no opinion on args ordering with high level lang like C. But I was shocked seeing x86 assembly using src, dst, the default order of my fave and lovely CPU : Motorola 68000 :)

@leonard_coder @tetsuoai I even know some people who do in C: func( in0, in1, ..., out0, ... ) Non sense it should And must be: func( out0, ..., in0, ... ) Like memcpy !!!

x86 segmentation maps memory references through segment registers. It is still used in modern x86-64 for FS/GS, especially thread-local storage and kernel per-CPU data. In sandboxing, segmentation can restrict untrusted code to a fixed memory region. MIT 6.858.

@johnrheritage We use raster lines time (a complete frame is 313 raster lines). I would say typical YM music takes between 10 to 15 lines. Amiga MOD is 5 lines on average but have peaks at 10 to 15. But now in modern era you have very fast players ( 0.5line for MOD :) ) tinyurl.com/ymw6ncd6

@leonard_coder Tech question if I may - How much CPU time (%) is typically required on the ST to play YM music? And on the Amiga, what % of time did the CPU use to play MODs or basic instruments via Paula? I'm just curious how much overhead was for music on these systems.

@thomasklemenc really impressive, in general custom made UI are bloody fast but looks bad. Yours is both fast and good looking :) what's graphics API? directX?

Software has a natural tendency to get more complex over time, specially if you listen to all the user requests. I can't say I'm particularly proud of the interface of that tool, but it's been doing its job (mostly) for about 8 years now, with very little maintenance needs. 😅

@app_settings no doubt macbook hardware is way better than any windows laptop, esp regarding the price. But still, no windows.. :( I dream of Apple reviving their great BootCamp and macbook M5 able to natively run windows on ARM. That would be instant buy for me
