I'm excited to share with all of you that I've been promoted this week to full Professor of Geography at @TCU! My promotion case centered on open-source software contributions - both the packages themselves and a book / articles written about those methods and tools. I'm grateful to all of you who have used #tidycensus and related tools -- you helped me make the case that scholarly output goes beyond journal articles. So what's next? I'll be diving into research topics like generative AI in demography and synthetic population modeling, then bringing those insights to the community through new open source tools, workshops, and consulting / industry partnerships. And - I'll be sharing those insights on here as I go. If any of this interests you, feel free to reach out!
