On This Day โ June 5, 1948
In April 1948, 22-year-old Robert F. Kennedy traveled through British Mandate Palestine & saw: Jerusalem had a clear Jewish majority & Arab forces were openly preparing to annihilate every Jew the moment the British left.
This day, one of his dispatches from the Land of Israel was published in the Boston Post, capturing the grim reality:
โThe City of Jerusalem has more Jews than Arabs but the immediate surrounding territory is predominately Arab โฆ It is by this road [from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem] that the Jewish population within Jerusalem must be supplied, but it is fantastically easy for the Arabs to ambush a convoy โฆโ
He added with chilling detail:
โThe Arabs โฆ would poison [the water]. The Jews โฆ had a central water system installed โฆ Unfortunately for them, the reservoir is situated in the mountains and it and the whole pipeline are controlled by the Arabs.โ
RFK saw British troops disarming Jewish convoys while thousands of Iraqi, Syrian, Lebanese, and Transjordanian Arab soldiers poured in unmolested.
He watched the Haganah fighting desperately to keep the Tel AvivโJerusalem road open โ calling it โour battle of the Atlanticโ โ because without it, Jerusalemโs Jews would have been starved or slaughtered.
With brutal clarity, the young Bobby Kennedy documented what so many still deny today: the Jews were not the aggressors. They were fighting for their ancient homeland โas of right and not on sufferance,โ rebuilding a desolate land while Arab forces and British obstruction tried to crush them.
A 22-year-old future U.S. Attorney General and Senator saw the truth with his own eyes: the Jews were simply the ones refusing to die.

Everything the national media does is a mirage. They're all pretending that @grahamformaine is some sort of toxic, unpopular candidate, when in reality, he's the only Democrat in my lifetime who's beating Susan Collins and has a comfortable lead.
They make it seem like being against Israel is an unpopular position, when 60% of the country and 80% of Democratic voters are against Israel. They keep pretending that being against Israel's wars and genocide are disqualifying, when in reality they are very, very popular positions.
If they're in the news business, that is a weird thing for them all to do in unison. Which, of course, makes you wonder if they're actually in the new business.
