@SpaceKoala Yeah the killdozer story is one of peak boomer entitlement. I don’t know why he’s worshipped when he was nothing more than an entitled POS.

It wasn’t just Amazon that killed these, Private Equity also killed these stores by using leveraged buyouts. They let the company assume hundreds of millions, or even billions in debt, which it could not possibly keep up with, and that’s why they had to close.
Nostalgia@NostalgiaYZ

Maybe Amazon was a mistake.

@_FromTheIsland I wonder what he thinks of having an entire season put together with a mediocre cast for the sole reason of gifting someone a win?

Boston Rob comments on Aubry's winning game, and how Survivor has changed "I do think it's interesting that people like Cirie and Ozzy talked about Aubry [playing] the middle great. Years ago, that would've been considered being called a coattail rider. That was looked down upon. So I wonder, is that something they actually revere, or is that the excuse they're giving to be able to justify their vote, because they didn't want to vote for Jonathan or they didn't want to vote for Joe." @99coug It doesn’t require the formation of a college athletes union and doesn’t require collective bargaining. It takes any semblance of power out of the player’s hands and gives the NCAA unilateral power with the antitrust exemption. How is that a good thing for college sports?

@GrahamCoffeyDC They’re not valid while he’s pushing for a bill that doesn’t require a college athletes union or collective bargaining. All this is an attempt to remove all power from the players in college sports.

Have seen a lot of people bringing up Nick Saban’s coaching career today in reference to things he said before congress If everyone who lobbied for needed reform had to clear a bar of hypocrisy then we’d never get reforms. His points are salient whether you like him or not
Trey Wallace@TreyWallace

Nick Saban brings up the current Clemson-Ole Miss tampering situation. “We have nothing to control tampering. You know, Clemson had a player that was on campus for a whole week, and they (Ole Miss) come and got him off the campus and took him someplace else”

Womens wrestlers are probably the most hypocritical motherfuckers on earth. For years ya'll complained about being sexualized and that ya'll wanted to be given a chance to wrestle. They finally give you the chance and ya'll are showing massive amounts of ass and titties like never before. From the in ring gear to instagram to Only Fans. Matter fact Ms. Lander I believe you got injured a year or so ago. About a week later you were promoting your OF account. Get the fuck outta here with this victimhood bullshit. "Please don't ask me to be feminine" while walking down the ramp with half your asses out. Give me a fucking break.
STEPH DE LANDER@stephdelander

Dang in 2026 we’re still telling women in wrestling they need to be more feminine? lol

@DavidT64605874 @andysparks78 @JakeBequette91 The NFL players have a union that negotiates for them on matters like the salary cap. The Protect College Sports Act does not require a union and collective bargaining.

Boomers love capitalism until the kids get rich. Steve Spurrier was the first coach to hit a $1 million per year salary in 1996. Saban made over $11 million in his final year at Alabama. Now that it’s finally the players’ turn to earn, the boomers start sounding like AOC!

NEW: Nick Saban detailed how much Alabama’s NIL collective spent every year for the past five years in Wednesday’s hearing about the Protect College Sports Act. (via CommerceRepublicans/TT h/t @whalexander_) on3.com/news/nick-saba…

@andysparks78 @SavingCFB @JakeBequette91 The issue is that the Protect College Sports Act that they’re trying to pass and is being defended online doesn’t require any union formation or collective bargaining and shifts all the power into the hands of the NCAA.

@lo9406 @SavingCFB @JakeBequette91 I’m completely fine with a union for the players and them having some say. Absolutely. My argument is not that they shouldn’t have some say/power, it’s that we have got to get how much is being spent each year under some control. Balance between player/fans who pay.

@andysparks78 @SavingCFB @JakeBequette91 Kelly was paid 50mil for his buyout, Jimbo was paid 75mil for his, both by public schools. Then they should establish a college athlete union, go through collective bargaining, and establish a CBA with contracts instead of trying to bypass it and give the players no say/power

@lo9406 @SavingCFB @JakeBequette91 A highly paid coach’s salary annually now amounts to about 12% of what is spent on a roster for one year. We’re way past that point. And that coach signs a contract with stipulations, in a lot of cases players on the roster are making more than the coach, with no stipulations.

@andysparks78 @SavingCFB @JakeBequette91 The public wouldn’t be paying anything but the revenue share that is allowed by the NCAA. NIL can’t be paid by the school. Also if it was about public school fiscal responsibility, where is the outcry to cap Coach pay, buyouts, and movement as well? Are private schools exempt?

@lo9406 @SavingCFB @JakeBequette91 Nobody wants players to make less just to make less. That is a ridiculous argument and based in nothing. People like us, the fans, have to foot the bill. We want some regulation so that our entertainment dollar is not continuously stretched each year. Period.

@SavingCFB @andysparks78 @JakeBequette91 Unless there’s the establishment of a college athlete union and collective bargaining so the players have to agree to a CBA, it’s just trying to limit how much athletes earn.

@lo9406 @andysparks78 @JakeBequette91 There technically wouldn’t be a law limiting it… the law would allow a commissioner of college athletics set a limit on what an individual program can spend on wages, not how much an individual player can make. Just like many other sports leagues.

@andysparks78 @JakeBequette91 No I’m not, I don’t think there should be any limit on what players make. Also NIL payments by NCAA rules can’t come directly from the school so the public isn’t paying anything. The only payments coming from the school would be revenue share payments.

@lo9406 @JakeBequette91 The employer is the school, who is funded by us. We are saying there should be a limit on what we’re willing to pay. You are literally stating what we’re saying.

@andysparks78 @JakeBequette91 So there’s no limit on how much you can make, only a limit on what your employer is willing to pay you. Why shouldn’t college athletes be treated the same?

@JakeBequette91 I am a manager for an automotive manufacturer and yes, my job has a max-out pay limit. If my company didn’t take that into account when it started, it would go bankrupt upping salaries every year to try and compete with other auto manufacturers in our field. That’s business.
