@DonnaWarburton1 It's ok, not to worry, intermittent energy can't power ddata centres so it isn't happening as long as the push for solar and wind continue

@DeiniolJones69 I parse 'colourways' as meaning 'we make lots of useless stuff in this shade we will try to sell you, with paint as a gateway drug.'

@michael_merrick In other words, from what we call y gwir gogledd, the true north. Which then would have been part of Welsh speaking Britain

@Joe___Allen The Powys situation is a particular crisis because, with so many of us self-employed, many people pay themselves less than minimum wage to keep their businesses going

They that wash on Monday have all the week to dry. They that wash on Tuesday are not so much awry. They that wash on Wednesday wash in a hurry, they that wash on Thursday wash for worry. The that wash on Friday wash for need, but they that wash on Saturday, they are sluts indeed.

Woken up even more baffled by the film 'I Swear.' Why did the makers portray Galashiels as a highrise urban hellscape? I lived near Gala & returned on a visit a couple of weeks ago. If you feel the story needs urban grit, just move the location. If you say it's Gala, show Gala.

How many people are being received into the Anglican church as adults? 800 this Easter in Westminster alone are becoming Catholics. I hope there will be lots joining the C of E as well but I can't remember anything like this before

@lodeslan @EvanAG1999 They are run in Catholic countries where the population can sustain them. There aren’t enough Catholics in the UK to take on one ancient cathedral!

not to mention that the online trad RCs have no idea how much it costs to run a 14th century cathedral - your own hierarchy wouldn't want to take them over for this very reason anyway

Watching 'I Swear.' Great portrait of a young man living with a condition few understand. Not so great a portrait of Galashiels. One long shot had a row of tower blocks. And thus far, no sign of the Common Riding. Gala's not a part of Glascow, chaps

This is a very interesting, counter-cultural listen. I am busy asking politicians in Wales at the moment about their support for all parents, not just 2 income households and getting a lot of crickets in reply. Mothers staying at home with babies should be a supported choice.
The Spectator@spectator

'Parents don't realise that nurseries are day orphanages and warehouses for their children' Child psychotherapist Erica Komisar says parents are being bullied and misled into believing that daycare is good for their children, aruging that nurseries are effectively 'day orphanages' that cannot provides babies with the same safety and security provided by their parents. @EricaKomisarCSW @NatashaFeroze

@siobhanworld My mother used to say: 'Don't marry for money but look for love where money is.' Advice I didn't follow, but neither did she.

After a rubbish morning at work, I’ve decided that if I marry again, it will be for money not love. So if there’s any millionaires out there looking for a slightly shop-soiled old bird for constant nagging, no sex and post menopausal mood swings, please form an orderly queue.

@KeruboSk I am afraid not but then, living in a house with five other siblings, they were probably quite resilient. Also, when my sister was killed when I was ten, I still remember the relief of getting back to normal routine after a period or mourning

Would you allow your child to miss school for a day just to rest because they say they're mentally or emotionally tired?

@JennMGreenberg This reads to me a bit like saying: 'So great for you that your parents had a horrible divorce because it made you concentrate more at school.' There is no benefit whatsoever to the Reformation from a Catholic viewpoint.

Catholics actually benefited a great deal from the Reformation. For example, you can now read the Bible in English. I think we can all agree, that’s an incredible blessing.
