@JosephKahn The episode "The Chaser" is even MORE closely related. Guy gives the woman of his obsession a love potion. She drives him insane with her suffocating affection.

Obsession is literally a Twilight Zone episode where 1) a wish is made not really believing it is real 2) discovering it is real and enjoying the the wish 3) the wish backfires making things worse than before. It's just the old adage: Be Careful What You Wish For. The lesson in these tales isn't that main character is evil or that the wish is evil. The lesson is you're a fucking loser.
Joseph Kahn@JosephKahn

Twilight Zone. A man gets a wish for $1 million but then gets taxed the going 1960 rate of 95% after deductions.

@JosephKahn Scroll through new Netflix entries, read just the story description and ask yourself: "Is this a story I've seen in other forms many times?" I find myself dropping a "yes" at least 95% of the time. 😞

@DJNOSTYLE @NateSchlomann I don't believe that man is actually religious though. I believe he's just a psychopath hiding behind religion. So I doubt he's too worried about judgment. But I love your point.

@NateSchlomann You’d be saying the same shit even if Jesus was reborn again, knocked on your door, and personally told you how greatly you have twisted the word of God. In fact, chances are you’d run right back here and say the “woke mind virus” has claimed him. Have fun pleading to Peter.

This guy is doing his best, and I applaud him for speaking up, but we can't avoid the reality that to be pro-God, pro-creation, and pro-reality is to be anti-gay. Being anti-gay is nothing to be ashamed of - reality is anti-gay, and God is anti-gay. And the degenerate alphabet mafia knows that. That's why they react the way that they do to anyone who won't bow the knee.
Blake Niemann@Blakes_Take2

D-backs pitcher Ryan Thompson, who is a proclaimed Christian, spoke on the MLB warning SF Giants players who wrote Bible verses on Pride Night caps: "I think there's a perceived negativity with this stuff. Landen Roupp wrote a verse on his hat that means he's anti something. That doesn't mean that. It means that he's pro something. So the rainbow means something to him. It means that he believes in the Noahic Covenant being something that's special to us as Christians."

This guy didn't get the message and said the quiet part out loud. But this is how many conservatives feel deep down inside. Hateful bigots, zero empathy for anyone not like them, selfish human beings, cruel, borderline psychopathic and proud of it.

@ScottXfan @pdubinkc @HashtagGriswold So you're worried about the "potential harm" to a few millionaire players because of their own self-inflicted wounds, but you're not worried about the potential harm to millions of LGBTQ people who have to live in a world where so many people hate their very existence. 🙄

@pdubinkc @HashtagGriswold even with a CBA, knowingly subjecting your players to potential harm and emotional distress is the definition of a hostile work environment. No player will be fined or punished for their expression. MLB is treading on very dangerous ground including risking anti trust exemption

Wait, so the Pride hats were optional? Like it's not even true they were forced to wear them?

@razorbackshoops @HashtagGriswold Wearing the hat is optional. Yes. Also if you want to make a statement of opposition to an effort to be welcoming to a marginalized group, be ready to stand by it if others are critical of your little statement. It's really not that hard.

@ogbobbyjindal Half of these idiots don't even know why they're supposed to have a problem with something. They just know they're supposed to have a problem with it. That's why they can't explain it.

Deeply held religious beliefs and it's "lgbtq people shouldn't have equal rights to everyone else" Like guys it's 2026 have a little more shame about your opinions.
toddstarnes@toddstarnes

Major League Baseball is now warning Christian ball players not to write Bible verses on their ball caps during mandatory gay pride month celebrations. Players are being ordered to violate their deeply-held religious beliefs. Sounds like a lawsuit to me...

@LttleGel That’s the rule but we’ve all worked for employers who say something is completely voluntary but we know opting not to do something the boss wants will bite you in the ass.

@sportsnow41 @OriginalClady You purposely zoomed in hard and avoided the bigger issue. But you really should ask yourself why you're doing that. I could write volumes and volumes of examples of the condemnation I'm talking about. Why not admit it's a problem? Have a good evening.

Calling Pride Night "divisive" only makes sense if you disagree with its message: that the ballpark should be welcoming to a historically marginalized group. If that's what you're calling divisive, that says more about your feelings toward that group than the event itself.
Jerry@Jerry1yearlater

@HeyFitzy @BigJakeCLE @OriginalClady There is absolutely zero need for pride night in a baseball game. All it’s doing is creating division. You should read the scarlet letter. Them wearing their regular hat whilst e1 else wears their pride hat would have received tons of hate most likely from folks like you.

I’m sorry but this is absolutely ridiculous, how is this allowed? Shohei Ohtani is now pinch hitting in the 6th inning of a game he started on the mound while not being in the lineup

@sportsnow41 @OriginalClady I am seeing a very different world than you are. With respect, I think you are willfully closing your eyes to the insane amount of harassment and condemnation coming from Christians towards LGBTQ people. Why are you downplaying that?

@mailstormio @OriginalClady This guy "Jerry" speaks for all Christians? It's one guy Most are miles from condemning, they just don't agree for their own lives Most trans aren't shoving it down our throats either. Should I generalize all when one person does it? Cmon Miles
