Ramaphosa's framing oversimplifies and misrepresents the actual mechanics of this water project.
It's not a straightforward commercial sale of water by Lesotho to SA, nor a simple purchase by SA.
Lesotho doesn’t literally sell water as a commodity in the way oil is sold.

Listening to this clip I am reminded of what you write was said by SA Foreign Minister Pik Botha and his Lesotho counterpart Colonel Thaabe Letsie at the signing of the LHWP Treaty in Maseru on 24 October 1986.

R2 MILLION REFUNDED!!! STANDARD BANK refunded client the R 2m fraudulently withdrawn from her account. However, she had to sign a confidentiality agreement not to make this public. My question to this devious bank is:- What about the thousands other clients ?

@mareledes Maybe. But you know the basic principle of economics, the lower the supply the higher the price. Those Asian markets will be looking for alternatives to meet their oil demands. So everyone is affected ntate no matter how south we are from the ME.

Aren't a bit affected?? Lol everyone is affected even if you are not in ME. Iran is choking 20% of global oil supply that affects everyone.

@Buda_maama Even though it does make sense , the increases are just ridiculous. That’s what I have concerns with. Beware that might be a new standard despite favorable changes in the future.

@lekhitla_tente The little I know is that OPEC( mainly run by Saudi Arabia) , controls global price targets. Iran’s produce mainly goes to Asia. & as a bulk buyer myself I know my fuel comes from Namibia, Sasol , & Matola.Mozambique said not to worry about Iran’s issue.
