We talk a lot about uniting American Christians—I believe it begins with practicing Christians—those committed to living their faith, not just identifying with it. A practicing Christian strives to live according to the Gospel in action, not just belief. And that begins with the Kerygma—the core message of the Gospel. I believe the definition is the first step. We start by helping believers live authentically—faithfully, consistently, and courageously.

From Saint George to Micah Miller — the fight never ended. Once, evil was obvious. A dragon. A battlefield. Now? It hides behind power, policy, and influence. St. George fought a dragon. Micah fights something far worse: A battle you can’t see—until it’s too late. #TheFallen #SaintGeorge #GoodVsEvil #StandForTruth

@BishopBarron St. George reminds us that the battle between good and evil is real—and ongoing. The “dragon” may look different today, but the call to courage, faith, and defending the innocent hasn’t changed.

If this stands, Virginia could go 10–1 or 9-2. Let that sink in. This isn’t about one election—it’s about control of representation for a decade. The question isn’t what happened. It’s why no one stopped it. The RNC wasn't just asleep at the wheel; they were hibernating. #GOP #Redistricting #WakeUp

“Saul, Saul… why are you persecuting me?” — Acts 9:4–5 This isn’t ancient history. Many believe it happened under Biden. From FACE Act prosecutions to targeting Christian beliefs—the pattern is hard to ignore. Why? Read THE FALLEN. Then decide for yourself. When I got divorced 11 years ago I left the Catholic Church because I didn’t feel welcome. I thought I committed a sin. I felt shame. I joined a non denominational church. Should I go back to the Catholic Church? I’m thinking about it.

Most Americans don’t want to bail out NYC again. Wall Street money is moving—Citadel, Apollo Global Management, and Elliott Management are shifting influence; AllianceBernstein and Charles Schwab proved you can leave. Over 150 financial firms managing ~$1 trillion have shifted out of NYC in recent years and more will be leaving. 1975 showed what happens when confidence breaks—NYC couldn’t sell its bonds and needed the federal government to save it from bankruptcy.

@cnalive President Trump’s Achilles’ heel has long been a lack of restraint—especially on social media. For many of his supporters, the biggest frustration isn’t his policies, but his inability to stay off those platforms.

U.S. President Donald Trump on April 16 downplayed his recent public criticism of Pope Leo XIV, stating that he has “nothing against the pope” while continuing to falsely suggest that Leo wants Iran to develop nuclear weapons. ewtnnews.com/world/us/donal…

Unfortunately, under the current system, Congress has little incentive to address the critical issues facing the future of the country. If we are serious about fixing it, we must change the incentives that drive political behavior. That means implementing term limits—12 years for the Senate and 8 years for the House—while extending House terms from two to four years to promote longer-term thinking. It also means eliminating pensions and requiring elected officials to participate in a standard 401(k), like every other American. During their time in office, their investments should be limited to broadly diversified mutual funds to avoid conflicts of interest. Once the incentive for a lifelong political career is removed, we may finally see leaders willing to confront the issues that matter most.

While I often struggle to support Senator Paul—because he can come across as an obstructionist without offering solutions—he is absolutely right about our national debt. Unfortunately, under the current system, Congress has little incentive to address what is arguably the greatest long-term threat to our future (second only to a declining birthrate): the debt. Ohioans are seeing the benefits of the Working Families @TaxCuts we passed in July. Last week, a pizza delivery driver told me he used his increased refund to pay off his car. A restaurant server was able to pay off her college loan. These are the meaningful, real-life examples of the benefits in this package.  I was proud to vote for it so hardworking Ohioans can keep more of what they earn.

So true—thank you. As Jeff Cavins emphasizes, Christianity is more than an identity or intellectual agreement—it is something lived. It requires daily commitment and the intentional ordering of one’s life around God. Simply put: you don’t just believe—you follow. And to follow faithfully means discerning in alignment with Christian values, including active participation in the political process—voting your core.

@TaylorRMarshall Neither. He was performing his calling. The Pope forms conscience; he does not replace it—especially in matters requiring prudential judgment. National leaders must act in the best interested of the constituents. These decisions will oftyen not align.

Both the United States and the Catholic Church have long been forces for good in the world. Today, we need them aligned—not divided, mnore than ever. For President Trump to be remembered as a great leader, he must start to footsteps of Ronald Reagen - "Exceptional leaders don’t tear down—they elevate."

"I have nothing against the Pope...I'm not fighting with the Pope.... The Pope can say what he wants, and I want him to say what we wants, but I can disagree. [...] I'm sure the Pope is a great guy, I haven't met him." Pitch-perfect example of how political rulers should handle disagreements with spiritual authority—much to the dismay of those would love to drive a wedge between President Trump and American Catholics, most of whom voted for him twice!
Rapid Response 47@RapidResponse47

.@POTUS: "I have nothing against the Pope... If the Pope looked at the 42,000 people that were killed over the last two or three months, as [protesters] with no weapons, no nothing... I have a right to disagree with the Pope."

I’m a proud Catholic and an American patriot. I don’t agree with everything President Trump says or how he says it—but I recognize this: he has been a strong force in protecting religious freedom in America. Here’s the bottom line: The United States and the Catholic Church—imperfect as they are—have been forces for good in the world. Today, we need them working together, not at odds with each other.

Father Edward Beck: "I think that Catholics are recognizing that, and they're upset by it. Not only Catholics. I hear a lot of people, Jews, Christians, talking to me, saying, 'What is going on with this president? He's gone off the rails with this. And why is he picking the Pope to have this battle with?'"

I support President Trump and Vice President Vance—but this misses the point. The Church must engage society—including politics. That’s part of forming conscience. You can support Trump’s policies and expect better behavior. You can respect Pope Leo XIV and question prudential judgments. That’s not disloyalty—it’s leadership. This was rough to hear from a public Catholic. The pope has every right to speak on politics and public affairs, because politics concerns man and the common good, and every facet of those realities belongs under the judgment of God.
The American Conservative@amconmag

JD Vance on President Trump's criticism of Pope Leo XIV: "In some cases, it would be best for the Vatican to stick to matters of morality and what's going on in the Catholic Church and let the president of the U.S. stick to dictating American public policy."

We missed the point—again. You can support Trump’s policies and expect better behavior. You can respect Pope Leo XIV and still question prudential judgments. That’s not disloyalty—it’s leadership. Recent comments by Donald Trump about Pope Leo XIV aren’t just about one moment—they reflect us. We’ve normalized a decline in public discourse. You can support a leader’s policies and still expect better behavior. As a practicing Christian, I am grateful for President Trumps unwaivering protection of our religious freedoms (Pro-Life, Pro-Family, Pro-America). Accountability isn’t disloyalty—it’s leadership. Here is the letter I sent the President: markslavik.com/purpose-above-… #Leadership #Accountability #CharacterMatters #PrinciplesOverPolitics #VoteYourCore
