These “gang takedowns” that send dozens of young Black men to prison without changing any of the underlying factors that result in young people joining gangs don’t work. The cops and DAs just periodically arrest a new bunch of people, but nothing really changes.

Mohammed obviously formed his theology from those influences from non-Arab communities of Jews and Christians, but Islam was formed on his interpretation of those ideas, not as a branch from a pre-established form of Christianity. All Protestant reformers were initially Catholic and well versed in Christian doctrine. Islam does not see Jesus as the Son of God and Messiah.
