The amount of seething hatred I receive in my replies is beyond my comprehension. It feels like some would put a bullet in my head for being Jewish if they could. I came onto X to share the joys of being a Jewish believer in Jesus. Not to get daily death threats. But I'm not leaving. For those that harbor such hate: Please, for your sake, accept the Lord Jesus. Repent and give your life to Him, like I did. Go to a solid, Bible-believing church. So, I downloaded Android Studio Narwhal and freshly installed. And created a new empty Android project. Is the two char indentation the new reality? Is it because of Compose?

If you’re still writing UI in XML in 2025, you probably miss AsyncTask too.

Pro tip: When you find an issue, first write a test case that replicates the issue, and only afterward start fixing it. Not only does the test prove whether the fix is working, but it will also help you avoid a regression on the same issue in the future.

@rahulografy @github_skydoves IMO ktfmt is superior to ktlint in that it is more strictly opinionated and lacks the configurability that ktlint offers. No ifs ands or buts about it. You get the same consistent format every time. Just like Google Java Formatter.
