@mikusingularity The assumption behind all this old discourse is that there would never be demand for a high flight rate of heavy payloads, therefore a high flight rate would have to be artificially created by making the rocket too small to carry everything that needed to be launched.

A lot of the discourse about reusable launch vehicles on the NASASpaceflight forum in the 2000s and early 2010s was about how they will never be economically viable unless they were really small. So why did no one make a small RLV with a high flight rate?

Like ~12 years ago the biggest conversation in spaceflight was "we gotta have dual payload capability for GEO birds" Think about that.

H3-30 (Flight 6) is the first Japanese orbital rocket to launch using only liquid rocket engines (without solid rocket boosters). Prior to this, the RVT (Reusable Vehicle Testing) program performed suborbital flights from 1999 to 2003, reaching a maximum altitude of 42 meters.

Smartphones and social media getting blamed for social problems is ironic, since the advent of their modern iterations in the late 2000s coincided with the perceived technological decline of Japan, and the emergence of articles criticizing Japan for "missing out on smartphones."

Artemis 4 should include a JAXA astronaut. First because Japan is incredible and our best friend. Second because itโ€™d tick off the worst people in China (like Xi).

Neo-Y2K music artists like DV-i, ALFAXYSM, Nanoray, and System ST91 make the most futuristic-sounding music in my opinion. I compiled a playlist with hundreds of tracks: youtube.com/playlist?list=โ€ฆ

I don't want to RETVRN, but I want to course correct towards the vision of the future we had in the late 90s & early 00s, and I'm starting to believe that might actually happen
