You cannot have open borders and welfare programs. You have to choose one.
I prefer no welfare and more open borders (with exceptions for violent criminals and people from countries we are at war with/ have terrorists). The lack of welfare will (as it did in the U.S. in the past) filter out the types of problematic immigrants we do not want.

The basis of the argument is stupid. If someone breaks into your home while you and your family are home, you should assume they are there to harm you and your family and not there to take your things. If someone waits for you to leave and then breaks into your home, that is the behavior of a thief who wants your things.
