I've been working on this project for a few years. I used a ton of camera tracking data/metrics to map basketball play styles to Pokémon types, 151 NBA players to the 151 OG Pokémon, and illustrated the results. Would mean a lot if you'd check it out! okaymon.com

@SotoSchwartz @chillducey I think the Nugs have been rooted in Adelman stuff for the past few years but I agree, he's much more x and o oriented and willing to be progressive. It's definitely about "optics" tho yeah. People just want to project things from 100mi away based off vibes and assumptions.

@okayed @chillducey the guy has way clearer beliefs on the court than Malone. Clearly is a big believer in spacing, has tilted the Nugs towards zone often. I feel this has to be abt tone and not seeing enough “fire” or whatever from DA which is bad process imo

@okayed @AndrewDBailey @Adam_Mares jokic is obv bothered by them. Shaq has so much more muscle/weight then Jokic, also is 2 inches taller. He would just jump hook ever the physical small, or obv just dunk it. Jokic can't get up and isn't as athletic as Peak Shaq too. Shaq is one of the greatest athletes ever

@timeburns1 Your study, as with many of the others, base the conclusion on taxpayers floating the bill for the stadium. As this has become less and less the case, and when it's not the case at all like Intuit, the baked in debt doesn't exist and the positive correlations do.

@okayed @NateDuncanNBA Avtually, if you look at a city like New Orleans, which personally I love, they literally have no Pelicans fans. Nobody goes to @PelicansNBA games. They draw under 2000 people/game, and that is being generous. Relocating them would not hurt anybody.

@NateDuncanNBA Wanting to take a franchise away from a community is terrible for those fans and very negatively impactful socioeconomically the city. There is so much talent in the league and overseas right now that expansion is very warranted, so it's not even practically justifiable.
