I think this misunderstands the politics. In the first few hours of a war with China over Taiwan, US military personnel will be dying by the hundreds or thousands as China spams ungodly quantities of missiles at US bases. It will be a war of vengeance, not choice.

@Apuntes_ Not true. The parliament (majlis) elected the PM.
As for parliament dissolution, the very letter informing the Shah expressed a request to call fresh elections.
In any case, US and UK’s actions were still foreign intervention over Iran’s resources and rights to self-govern.

That's utterly false. Mossadegh was not elected, but appointed by Shah in accordance with the constitution. He dissolved the parliament and Shah removed him until election, which was within his power by the constitution. But Mosalsadegh refused to step down and usurped power and therefore was removed by the army. Then CIA took credit to increase their budget and show how capable they are.
