Food for thought: A lot of people, me included, have been ragging on Zuckerberg for 180'ing completely on the FB platform. There is an interesting plotline that it seems is being largely neglected, though: 1. In Trump's book, he threatened "life in prison" for Zuckerberg if he thought there was any illegal activity during the 2024 election. (Keep in mind that Trump believes there was illegal activity for the 2016 and 2020 election, with no evidence) 2. Afterwards, Zuckerberg releases a letter that the Republican House Judiciary Committee publishes on Twitter, where he claims the Biden admin pressured him to censor Facebook. Neither the Republicans in the House nor Zuckerberg provides any proof of this, of course. 3. A few days ago, Zuckerberg promises to get rid of fact checkers on Facebook. Fact-checkers are notorious for correcting a ton of the misinformation originating from Trump and his partners. 4. Trump, in a press conference afterwards, openly and publicly says that Zuckerberg probably responded to his threats, and was happy to see Zuckerberg change course. Just funny to see how blatantly on display the authoritarianism is from the MAGA side, when that same side claimed ANY communication from our intelligence would cause undue pressure to social media companies, yet blatant and direct threats from Trump apparently wouldn't.
