@susannareid100 As a counsellor to young people, I am not surprised by anything she says. Yes, most schools do have help of some sort. But so many young people do not want to see the school counsellor. The amount of young people on anti-depressants is rising as that is all they can get

#BACP have had a stranglehold on our profession for too long with employer organisations demanding membership. We need to see them for who they are and look elsewhere for professional accreditation.

Hi @BACP, #SCoPEd seems to mean that EVERY SINGLE UKCP full member is now in Column C and NOT ONE BACP member (inc. Snr Accred) is. Is this correct? #TherapistsConnect

@pat_capel It's the BACP, and they are a membership body involved in scoped too. My course is going through an accreditation process with them, and it was positioned to us that we'd be category B when we qualify, but we won't - we'll be A (due to the number of placement hours).

So, we had a discussion about #SCoPEd as part of my course. The spin (from our lecturer) was positive, talking about progression between the categories, how it will make things easier for clients and how overall it is beneficial to the industry. Well... Ok 🙄

@UK_Counsellors If UKCP have announced that all their members will automatically go into column C does that mean NCS will be pushed into column A? That would mean they will be sidelined like before.

The thing that confuses me most about all of the MBs adopting #SCoPEd, and NCS members voting in favour, is that it has happened without any of the MBs sorting any of these points that they said they would. We still don’t know column titles. We still don’t know how to progress 1/

@Therapy_Louise When I was divisional chair I raised this very point at one of the early presentations about #SCoPEd at @BACP To say I was dismissed would be an understatement. No understanding from those involved at the time how 3rd sector orgs work.
