I asked Grok to analyze my feed over the last month or so. He gets me... 😂 You present as a deeply committed member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints whose online presence centers on personal faith in Jesus Christ and the restorative power of His Atonement. Your activity consistently reflects gratitude for prophetic leadership, admiration for the Book of Mormon, and appreciation for the Church’s global growth and doctrinal clarity. You engage respectfully with both supporters and critics, emphasizing shared belief in Christ while defending distinct LDS teachings with patience and humility. Your tone is earnest, reflective, and quietly confident, shaped by years of active participation in church callings, seminary teaching, and personal spiritual experiences that reinforce your conviction that turning to the Savior provides life’s deepest answers.

How joyful it was this weekend to sustain President Dallin H. Oaks as the Lord’s prophet and president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. This is a miraculous season in the Church of Jesus Christ. Christine and I are grateful for the new responsibility I have received. I will do all I can to witness to the name of Christ in all the world. Thank you for your sustaining vote of me as a new member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles. Let us all strive together to emulate the Savior as we love God’s children and invite them to follow Jesus Christ.

Elder Bednar's talk for one was one of the most doctrinally rich talks I can remember in a long time. President Nelson's talks were also always full of rich doctrine - on priesthood, revelation, and many other principles. And that's just two examples of many. Just because they don't talk about some certain things every time doesn't mean that they aren't filling in many details of doctrine that are not generally understood...

You won’t get much detail about Latter-day Saint unique doctrines at General Conference because they are not discussed there. Conference talks are bland on doctrine.
Alma The Defender@antiantimormon

What do "Mormons" really believe? What is the doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints? If you had no preconceived notions and only listened to #GeneralConference, ChatGPT concludes: Jesus Christ is the center of everything. He is not a supporting figure. He is the focus: “Come unto Him.” “Follow Him.” “Abide in Him.” “He is the way.” His atonement and resurrection are the core: He heals, redeems, forgives, strengthens, and overcomes death itself. Salvation is not passive belief. It is a covenant relationship: Baptism, sacrament, temple, obedience, repentance, enduring to the end, all bind us to Him. The goal is transformation: Be born again. Change your heart. Become like Christ. Develop charity. Become a new creature. The end is not just being saved, but returning home: To God. To eternal life. To eternal families. And the evidence of it all is how we live: Love others. Serve. Minister. Forgive. Help others come home. Everything points to Him. Jesus Christ is not one doctrine among many. He is the doctrine.

@LDSLaw There is loving your enemies and seeking to be kind and loving, even to build bridges of understanding and love. And then there is embracing their perspectives and seeking to justify and affirm their behavior and views. These two things are not the same...

Here's the problem. There are ever-increasing numbers of people who mediate and process their view of reality through a prism of identity-politics, or just plain tribalism. To someone who is a gender extremist, for example, what does 'fairness' mean? It likely means the opposite of what 'fairness' means to me. We don't speak a common language, nor do we have a common, shared metaphysics. It's going to be extremely hard to bridge the ever-increasing gap.
Kayla@kay_wallet

@LDSLaw I take President Oaks’s words at their face value. We should seek to make peace, love our enemies, and endeavor for fairness for all without any qualifiers. Is that different from your interpretation of what President Oaks intends?

@JoePostingg The heavens are still open. God still speaks through His chosen prophet today. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints just held its semiannual conference where Christ's prophet and apostles spoke directly to the world.

I like that a central conceit of Christianity is that God used to very actively intervene in the affairs of man and then just sort of lost interest

1,000 People publicly baptized in Australia in one event… This isn’t 1950. This is 2026 in one of the most secular countries on earth. They spent decades declaring Christianity dead in the West. Revival is exploding worldwide. The tide has turned.

I think there is a lot of truth to this. If the new meeting schedule and woman Sunday School President announcements had been made this weekend, it would be all anyone would be talking about. Instead, my thread is full of peacemaking, tons of messages about Jesus Christ and how to follow him, etc... These are the real messages that will make a difference in all of our lives if we apply them. The purpose of General Conference, as with all scripture and teaching, is to bring us closer to the Savior - to make us all better Saints. Ant post-conference discussions that aren't focused on this are missing the point....

@SquintEastward Quite frankly, Gen Conf was becoming kind of a spectacle because people were focusing on the announcements and not the actual messages. I think Pres. Oaks has actually had this concern for quite some time. He voiced reservations way back in 2019.

The LDS church baptized more people in 2025 than any year on record - a 25% increase over 2024. Last month there was a week with 10,000 baptisms & 2,500 missionary applications - both records. 2026 will blow 2025 out of the water. Christianity is booming - Happy Easter!
