I totally agree. He was provoked and called names by both Iran and USA but he showed extreme restrain which ultimately helped Pakistan to mediate. Crown Prince MBS also deserves praise!! 🇸🇦🇵🇰

The reality: “If it wasn’t for the tireless efforts of countries like Pakistan, Türkiye, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and China - we might be waking up in a different world today”
Yusuf Erim@YusufErim34

I’m old enough to remember the back end of the Cold War and never have I woken up to check if there was a nuclear strike or not during that period. While the probability of it actually happening when Trump’s deadline expired was slim it wasn’t outside the realm of possibility and it was possibly the closest humanity has been to a nuclear strike since the Cuban Missile Crisis. That being said, this period of diplomacy has exposed a glaring need for the West to diversify and increase its diplomatic reach outside of it’s little garden. As the world was on the brink of possible nuclear war, the homogeneous foreign policy of western nations left them diplomatically paralyzed and far from the table. If it wasn’t for the tireless efforts of countries like Pakistan, Türkiye, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and China - we might be waking up in a different world today. The reason why I specifically highlight this is that as a Turk my country often gets criticized for its diverse diplomatic network by shallow narrative spinners with limited geopolitical understanding. Türkiye’s diverse diplomatic network is one of the greatest assets that the West and NATO has in its arsenal. Going forward, the major responsibility now rests on Trump and the US to reign in Netanyahu to abide by the ceasefire. Trump needs to build on this opportunity to ensure a lasting peace and bring his focus back onto what got him elected which is America First. I also hope the people of Israel will utilize this moment of peace to quickly move toward elections which will hopefully bring forth a new administration that’s more pragmatic. There’s also a huge responsibility now on the region as well to create a new security architecture that can prevent these types of events in the future. Many hidden weaknesses were exposed but this negative can be turned into a positive with strong political will. Regional problems require regional solutions and the path to creating regional solutions rests in regional unity. A big congratulations to Pakistan and the supporting cast of nations that helped negotiate the ceasefire. Hopefully these nations can continue to play an important role in bringing a permanent end to the war.

Pakistan’s 🇵🇰 contribution last night was instrumental in securing the regional truce. By playing a decisive and constructive diplomatic role, Pakistan not only helped stabilize an urgent security crisis but also reinforced its long-standing strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. This episode strengthens Islamabad’s image as a reliable and influential regional actor and resonates positively with domestic public sentiment, underscoring the government’s capacity to advance national interests through skilled diplomacy. #IranWar

Kudos to Pakistan’s authorities and the various intermediaries in the past few days who stepped in at this critical juncture and helped broker a two-week long cool‑off period just as “civilizational” equilibrium and global peace stood on the brink. Their efforts have so far kept a full‑scale calamity at bay—one that could have had long‑term consequences for all parties involved, not least the Iranian people and those directly affected inside and outside the country, whose fate matters deeply at this stage. Yet, given our collective experience, nothing guarantees that this pause will be fully observed or built upon. The crisis involves more than three sides, raising the crucial question: who will assume responsibility for ensuring comprehensive de‑escalation? Apparently, a 10‑point proposal is now on the table for discussion, and the moment calls for seasoned, professional diplomacy to work through the details. Spoilers are already active on all sides, and the world is watching closely, expecting concrete results, oil flows and less animosity rather than mere gestures. The past few weeks have been revealing, exposing both fragilities and opportunities. The coming days will be fateful, shaping not only the immediate standoff but also the broader trajectory of regional stability. Now is the time for maturity, coherence, and a clear sense of responsibility. Now is the time to choose dialogue over drift, and healing over harm.
Shehbaz Sharif@CMShehbaz

With the greatest humility, I am pleased to announce that the Islamic Republic of Iran and the United States of America, along with their allies, have agreed to an immediate ceasefire everywhere including Lebanon and elsewhere, EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY. I warmly welcome the sagacious gesture and extend deepest gratitude to the leadership of both the countries and invite their delegations to Islamabad on Friday, 10th April 2026, to further negotiate for a conclusive agreement to settle all disputes. Both parties have displayed remarkable wisdom and understanding and have remained constructively engaged in furthering the cause of peace and stability. We earnestly hope, that the ‘Islamabad Talks’ succeed in achieving sustainable peace and wish to share more good news in coming days! @realDonaldTrump @JDVance @SecRubio @SteveWitkoff @SEPeaceMissions @drpezeshkian @mb_ghalibaf @araghchi
