@rogtron @SonnyBunch Saying words isn’t a receipt. The # of remaining captives who are soldiers doesn’t tell us anything, because Israel didn’t take the deal to release all the civilian captives on Oct 9th. Many Israeli captives taken from military bases have already been returned to Israel.

My theory is that Hamas didn’t give up the hostages because it knew any Israeli operation against Hamas—which could not stop until the hostages were released—would result in dead Palestinians and Hamas prizes images of dead Palestinians because they make westerners feel bad.

@ChronicBabak @SonnyBunch If you bothered to read the article you'd learn that this is a hard floor on Hamas fighters killed. These are fighters that the IDF was able to identify with an ID number. The real number is very obviously much higher. 3rd grade reading difficulties strike again I see.

@rogtron @SonnyBunch Israel defeated buildings and it defeated children, but it didn’t defeat Hamas or other Palestinian militant groups. Groups that were fighting in sandals with weapons they made in tunnels out of Israeli bombs. The Israeli military is bad at fighting, it can only drop US bombs.

@ChronicBabak @SonnyBunch Zero receipts? What are you talking about? The list of hostages has been published many times, as has the fact that only 2 of the remaining 20 hostages were active duty in the IDF. Everything I’ve said is trivial to verify.

@kchoudhu Look I can’t disagree - that’s exactly my point! People should take his, and the rest of Hamas’, delusions seriously. But one component of his delusion was that 2m Israeli Arabs were just waiting to have the upper hand so they could do Hamas brutality, which was utterly false.

@kchoudhu But he accidentally ignited riots among Israeli Arabs in 2021. Hamas has quite a presence in the West Bank. Israel’s security establishment had been warning of the risk of a third intifada for a few years. It wasn’t completely implausible!
