NPF EXTRADITES FUGITIVE TO UK FOR MURDER AND DRUG TRAFFICKING, IGP DISU REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO GLOBAL COLLABORATION
The Nigeria Police Force, through the INTERPOL National Central Bureau (NCB) Abuja, has successfully facilitated the extradition of one Matthew Chukwuemeka Adebiyi to the United Kingdom to face charges bordering on murder and drug trafficking.
The extradition followed a formal request by United Kingdom authorities in September 2024 to locate, arrest, and extradite the fugitive over his alleged involvement in the murder of one Joshua Boadu on 18th June 2018, after which he fled to Nigeria to evade arrest. He was also alleged to have been involved in the supply of crack cocaine, a Class-A controlled drug, between October 2017 and March 2018 in the United Kingdom.
The suspect was arrested on 23rd January 2025 by operatives of the INTERPOL NCB Abuja, following which extradition proceedings were initiated at the Federal High Court, Lagos Judicial Division, in Suit No. FHC/L/CS/416/2025. On 16th February 2026, Honourable Justice A.O. Faji granted the application for his extradition in accordance with the Extradition Act, Cap E25, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004.
Pursuant to the court order and the execution of a surrender warrant by the relevant Nigerian authorities, the fugitive was formally handed over to United Kingdom law enforcement officials on 14th April 2026 at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos, for diligent prosecution.
IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, reiterates the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening international police cooperation and ensuring that Nigeria does not serve as a safe haven for fugitives.

The complaint isn’t about the barista not having to commute though, it’s about earning similar who is highly qualified. It’s classic case of; “show me the incentive I’ll show you the outcome”.
Wage compression here is slowly becoming communism, history has shown us what happens when that occurs.

“Mass immigration keeps wages flat”, what keeps wages flat/compressed is national minimum wage rising. There is little room for businesses to grow and create jobs when cost of labour keeps increasing for the bottom denominator. Coupled with legal and fiscal policies recently; I.E. Business Rate increases.
Secondly is inflation? A second order of effect as the caused by the UK spending too much on social welfare, it’s unproductive. you can look at the tax break down on HMRC.
“No jobs around” - I agree with you, it’s down to a matter of incentives. Spending from the GOV needs to be in areas of growth, but in a position of power when the voting base is pensioners, you’re playing a popularity vote.
My advice? On a personal level? Saying others have it worse doesn’t fix the problem the middle class is facing.
What’s the fix? Draconian changes, akin to Singapore. Which is ironic as Singapore used the UKs framework of old.

I lost my beautiful 3yo daughter from illness, and the NHS had no less than 6 touch points in which to save her.
My mum hobbles around because her GP won’t sanction cortisone injections.
People dying in corridors.
I fell out of love with the NHS a long time ago.
There will be many others like me.
To say the NHS is broken is an understatement.
I will never forgive the establishment for their part in losing my little girl.
We should get to keep the NHS portion of our tax money, to pay for private healthcare, if we prefer.
But no, the NHS - like every other institution - is a scam that doesn’t work, yet we’re forced to pay for.
I don’t care what happens to the NHS, but it’s not fit for purpose.
Our ENTIRE, fiscal system needs overhauling, and with that, ALL public services.
We have this insufferable, romantic attachment with the NHS, that prevents us collectively, honestly critiquing it.
It’s time to let it go.
My suggestion? Regime change, first. Tear it all down, and rebuild.
And see what a healthcare service looks like then.

This is the reason why we can never reform healthcare in the UK — or even have a sensible debate about it.
The moment anyone suggests alternative/additional ways of funding health Labour rushes out privatisation smears and claims US private health insurance is being proposed.
Labour has been doing it for decades. It explains why the NHS is effectively beyond reform.
The two worst health systems in the rich world are in America and the UK. It’s why nobody has ever copied them. It would be mad to go from ours to theirs (or vice versa).
But Europe is awash with health systems that can call on several sources of funds, including many with compulsory public health insurance schemes. They have better health outcomes than the NHS. They are free at the point of use (like the NHS). Most of them are better funded.
But Labour puts them out of bounds, refuses even to discuss or consider. So patient care suffers. NHS struggles on.
Labour is always telling us we need to get closer to Europe. It’s where we belong. But not when it comes to health, where it insists no lessons can be learned. Pretty pathetic, really.
