@kaemcd1 @1a @JohnPGoodwin I follow lots of rescues and many of them take care of dogs breeders are done with. Breeders who don’t transfer dogs to rescues will euthanize dogs with undesirable traits or defects. :(

@1a @JohnPGoodwin We recently adopted a breeder surrender. He was underweight, unsocialized, and had callouses on his elbows from being kept in a kennel with no soft place to lay down. Better now, but follows us everywhere as he craves attention and it is obvious he fears being left alone.

@1a @JohnPGoodwin Socioeconomic factors were not discussed. Populations with low income levels engage in backyard breeding for profit. Lack of access to low-cost spay & neuter procedures and accidental pregnancies directly impact the number of homeless pets.
