How are you finding the Rust naval patch so far? We shipped several hotfixes last night and will continue today. The biggest issue we're currently seeing is a small but, a significant number of players crashing connecting to servers. We've identified the problem and working on it!

@HeyImJonas Yes, servers that opted in will be tagged as "Secure" in the server browser.

Rust: We’re continuing to strengthen our anti-cheat efforts. From March, server owners will be able to opt in and only allow connections to players who have Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 enabled. We know not everyone is on hardware that supports Secure Boot or TPM 2.0, which is why we’re taking this middle-ground approach to start with. This will launch as an optional setting for server owners, but over time we’ll be reviewing the metrics and expect to move towards making this mandatory across all servers. Adoption rates for Secure Boot and TPM 2.0 are now significantly higher and continue to rise, they’re increasingly standard across competitive multiplayer games.

@garrynewman I'm not sure how many people even realize that s&box is sandbox. Which is a cool name, but I feel like gmod 2 is more recognizable. Either one is fine in the long run.

@tacularr @j_filez Yeah, this is not even remotely close to being true. Winterust has Main and Mondays servers that have 500 pop each and every wipe, plus a monthly server with a very active clan scene. I get you don't like winter, but there is no point lying to people as that just hurts the game.

A year now since i was banned off Rust, I entered 2025 with so much uncertainty in not knowing what the future held for me. However, 8 months into the ban I was allowed to return thanks to Alistair and the Facepunch Team. I'm hoping that next year I am able to continue to post Rust content, right my wrongs, and participate in the very bright future that Rust has. Thanks to everyone who supported me during the ban and those who left positive (and even negative) comments. And once again - sorry to everyone. Have a safe and happy holidays and see you lads next year.
