@uvxman Just an observation, despite the negative outcry including from myself, this type of post-processing is going to happen, showing a crude example from 3 years ago vs now. We are gaslighting ourselves thinking that artistic integrity will stop anything.

@Protox0 you ai’d a video of a rust base i don’t get the point, what do you think is happening? dlss5 is gonna be able to turn people’s rust into miami vice puke sim? what about competitive aspects of every visual mechanic in games like this
I made this crude video nearly 3 years ago with SD, this is basically #DLSS5 type processing but for some #Rust building skin ideas. Despite the backlash this type of thing will eventually become a standard one way or another for post-processing in games.
X on regular Chainsaw removed on Staging, Krieg version not yet, but should come soon, you can notice how much slower it is when X is not hit on the old method, plus more fuel used while getting the same amount of wood. #Rust
There is a #Steam Spring sale until March 26th, #Rust & DLCs are discounted, check Deep Discounts as well they got a few decent titles in there for cheap.
Activision put a COD game for a low price, nearly never happens: store.steampowered.com/app/2000950/Ca…
@DucksWorkshop Have you ever watched the documentary Jurassic Punk, it kind of has some parallels to today. Back then there was a shift from practical effects to cgi effects, and in many ways the same discussions came out.

@Protox0 I'm sure some game developers will care more about their artists integrity > making as much money as physically possible for the person at the top. Also this took them 10 years and ram costs more than a second hand car.
Also I think the early DLSS5 examples look very generic and maybe even AI Slop like for the most part and NVIDIA deserves the outcry, but at the same time the models will only get better, so this is still going full steam ahead.
The way #CounterStrike implemented ammo management was more novel for the time, because the previous game Action Quake2 @GoosemanCS worked on already did the mag ammo discard method. #CS2
@Losirkk yeah, I guess. Action Quake2 is one of my favorite fps mods and predates CS with Gooseman having worked on it as well and it uses this mechanic from 30 years ago.
@Protox0 100, that's a lot of juice.
@playrust in 2028: Tranquilize wild animals with the dart gun to bring them back as pets and let them get exercise on the wheel. (I've had pets in PvE already.)
Chickens 10w.
Dear 50w.
Wolves 75w.
Cats 100w.
Bears/horses too big.
Running on Water Wheel can generate a steady 100 power for now & yes you can autorun on it. Food/water is not affected for now. However this is a Work In Progress, will probably change before release. #Rust
At the moment armored ladder hatch top flap (triangle version) can go through walls, and sometimes can cause weird damage numbers from rockets. Needs further adjustments. Still early WIP, just a quick test, clearly not finished. #Rust
The Waterwheel has an odd footprint for now, i think they should make one fit in a 1x1 square (and a door to close it off) and limit it to just one per square foundation? Quick testing, maybe someone better skilled can make them fit better or use triangles or something. #Rust
Legend of California is having a playtest from March 26 to 30th, you can request access directly on Steam page: store.steampowered.com/app/2550530
I think I might try this, looked interesting from the videos.
