Started in the mid 80’s. SF and Silicon Valley never built the housing needed for their job creation. The inland areas were the only refuge for lower cost housing. I bought my 1st new starter house in Sacramento and commuted by van pool everyday to 2nd and Mission in San Francisco as a consumer loan rep at a credit union.

Because San Francisco refuses to build housing and so most service workers have to travel up to two hours each night back into exurban exile in e.g. Solano County and Contra Costa County.

Why does everything in San Francisco close so early? Coffee shops, gyms, corner stores. I have never experienced anything like it—is surprisingly inconvenient!

I take a ton of photos of my kids, and they are on my phone and in a cloud. But in the future, won't I just tell a model "generate a photo from my son's 7th birthday" and it'll be just as good?
