@allisonoconn Why not ask blood products from which particular community they want too. Coz I am quite sure they won't be willing to receive blood from non muslim donors. This is a pathetic statement.
English

Today my co-fellow @SR_DeshpandeMD taught me that since all heparin products are porcine-derived, all Muslim patients should be asked about/informed about heparin products prior to their use! Make sure you ask before starting that dvt prophylaxis!

@kmr_dilip A normal cell counter gives a report in a minute. The chances of error is so high in a finger prick report. Stop glorifying things that won't work in an actual world

Most people are chasing the next big thing. Some are quietly fixing the most basic problems. Met Hardik who is passionately been building Adys from Jaipur that brings real impact in 10 mins and most people don’t know about them. Adsys has developed a device that does complete blood count test with just a finger prick and generates a report in 10 mins. For a country like India, where millions lack access to diagnostic labs especially in rural areas this is massive impact. Don’t need a lab or a technician. Just this small device and a phone to generate a report and it costs 6x less than anything else on the market.
For the last 6 years, they’ve been on this. No noise, no headlines and trying to build something that works where it matters most and save lives.

@KrutikaKuppalli That's a good joke that matching is merit based. Even better joke is programs recruit best trainees.
English

This isn’t “a Pakistan thing.”
This is how most of the world trains doctors.
UK. Ireland. Australia. New Zealand. Europe.
So why single out Pakistan?
And let’s be clear: no one is “taking” anything from anyone - the match is merit-based and programs recruit the best trainees.

The 150 medical students from Pakistan who just took residency spots from American students have 3 fewer years of education than US kids. In Pakistan, a MBBS degree is 5 years and is the equivalent of a US 4 year college + 4 year medical school degree.

Alt News is ₹10 lakh short of breaking even this financial year.
We need 2,000 people to donate ₹500 each before March 31. That's 6 days.
Fighting misinformation isn't like putting out a fire. There's no moment when it's done. It's a fact-check every morning, a verification every afternoon, documentation of hate speech that nobody else is recording - day after day, year after year, for nine years.
We don't take ads. We don't have sponsors. We have readers.
Donate before March 31!

Match2026 Stories.
From A Private MedSchool to a
Yale Affiliated Residency Program,
In Just < 13 months.
This is the Journey of Dr Priyanka Ruparel.
In Jan 2025,
Dr. Ruparel had a 30k NEET PG rank, no CV, & 1 USCE from a blacklisted agency.
𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐔𝐒.
All her friends had already matched -
or were about to apply in 8 months.
She had no roadmap. No idea where to start.
Here’s exactly what we did.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏 — 𝐔𝐒𝐌𝐋𝐄 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏
We ran a full audit of her base.
Strong foundation from NEET. But needed a completely different execution.
Personalized tutors. Tight schedule. Structured mentorship.
✅ Step 1 cleared in 9–10 weeks.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟐 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫
Free 120 scores: ~60%.
She wasn’t hitting her marks.
We went deep:
→ UWorld in timed mode, 80 Qs/day
→ Personalized high-yield condensed notes
→ CMS forms + NBMEs
→ Helm medical videos
Sheer dedication. Correct system. Right mentors.
✅ Step 2: 244.
𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 — 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐂𝐕 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡
No CV. One blacklisted rotation. That was the starting point.
We identified vetted agencies and rotations that fit her timeline.
She showed up. She performed.
✅ Multiple LORs from US faculty.
𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐌𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 — 𝐑𝐮𝐧𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐥
𝟏–𝟐 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤.
Cohort-based. Publication-focused.
✅ CV built. Research added.
𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐭 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫
Not generic. Not mass-blasted.
Specific. Researched. Strategic.
✅ 2 interviews secured directly from LOIs.
𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧
Raw strength was there. It needed polish.
We built every answer. Refined her delivery.
Coached her to sound confident, human, and real.
✅ Interview-ready.
𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟑 — 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐦𝐨𝐯𝐞
Most applicants skip it pre-match.
We made it a weapon.
2.5 months of focused prep.
✅ Step 3 cleared.
Griffin Hospital specifically values Step 3 completion.
It became one of the deciding factors in her match.
𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — 𝐒𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐝.
Family support. Her fiancé. Hard work. God’s grace.
And a plan that left nothing to chance.
