Where youโ€™re from is part of who you are. If youโ€™re family is English, you will act as an Englishmen. If you hail from Africa, you will act as an African. We want the people in Australia to act as Australians, so we should only allow in, broadly speaking, the people akin to it.

Australia is and should always be a country where we judge you by who you are, not where youโ€™re from.

@RupertLowe10 that approach doesn't really account for the religious freedom aspect involved in these practices. equality in prohibition doesn't make it the right priority.

Whenever I talk about outlawing halal slaughter, it's the usual comments about why not kosher as well? The answer is very straightforward. A Restore Britain Government would ban both.

@kunley_drukpa Sounds like an interesting experience. I had the opportunity to buy alcohol for an indigenous woman in British Columbia. This is now a great white tradition. I wish i had been to the northern territories to meet more abos
Tom Rowsell@Tom_Rowsell

As I admired this lazy seal today, I attempted to engage an aboriginal man in conversation. He told me, in the softest tone, hardly audible over the sea wind, that there was another larger one, gesturing vaguely at the sea. โ€œWhere?โ€ I inquired. โ€œHe goes up. Sometime come underโ€ฆ.(pause)โ€ฆgoes here. He comes overโ€ It was unclear when he had finished speaking or whether he was pausing to consider his words before continuing. When I pressed him further, he reiterated the same vague descriptions which I couldnโ€™t really understand. In regard to speech, Aboriginals seem to be the opposite of Sub Saharan Africans from whose lips words fall rapidly, with chesty force, seeming sometimes to precede thought. In contrast, the laconic Aboriginal man speaks softly and slowly, with terse half sentences often preceded and interspersed with contemplative pauses. My curiosity was not reciprocated and in this sense too, my limited experience leads me to believe the AbAus is the opposite of the SSA; the latter in many regions will shout at strangers asking personal questions about their business. The gentleman i met today was not interested in me in the slightest.

BUYING ALCOHOL FOR ABORIGINALS ๐Ÿ‡ฆ๐Ÿ‡บ Aboriginals really striking in appearance in person when you meet them for the first time. Very distinctive physiognomies, donโ€™t want to call their look archaic but that is closest descriptor I can think of One thing about having these kinds of facial features is that they make the people look much older than they actually are. Was in Alice Springs in Australia, this is โ€˜majorโ€™ outback town in the Northern Territory. They have a lot of โ€˜abbosโ€™ milling around in groups here, you walk around and theyโ€™re all sprawled out on the grass together. Lots of them arenโ€™t really employed and many get some kind of government grant. Very hard not to stare because if youโ€™ve never seen full-blooded aboriginals in real life before (like I hadnโ€™t up until that point) like I say theyโ€™re quite distinctive looking Walking around the town, thereโ€™s a group of abbos milling in a park. One of the women comes up to me: [In a very strong bogan Australian accent while repeatedly scratching her face] โ€œAh yeah hey mate howโ€™s it going mate you alright mate hey I couldnโ€™t trouble you for sam help could I?โ€ Was one of first times and I had spoken to an aboriginal before โ€œWhat do you need?โ€ โ€œAh yeah mate well see itโ€™s my birthday mate yah know and ah I was just wondering if you could go in the bottle-o for me and grab us a few stubbies yah knowโ€ [scratches face again] Because of her very distinctive facial features was finding it difficult to focus on what she was saying, was looking directly into her eyes, couldnโ€™t really take much inโ€ฆ โ€œWhy canโ€™t you go in and buy some drinks for yourself?โ€ โ€œAh yeah naw well weโ€™re not allowed yah see they donโ€™t let us buy alcohol yah see because they think weโ€™re a right load of miscreants ah yeah but you look like a nice bloke could ya go and do it for me?โ€ โ€œThey donโ€™t let you buy alcoholโ€ โ€œYeah they reckon weโ€™ll start causing all kinds of trouble. Nah itโ€™s not rightโ€ [scratches her face again] โ€œIf youโ€™re not allowed I donโ€™t want to get in trouble myself buying it for youโ€ โ€œAh come on mate come on please itโ€™s my birthday ah I just want one little drinkie on my birthday mateโ€ โ€œI donโ€™t knowโ€ฆโ€ โ€œAh come on mate go on come on mateโ€ [jittering] โ€œIโ€™m not sureโ€ โ€œMate weโ€™re just chilling out a bit at the park on my birthday just want to unwind itโ€™s no harm mate come on help us out mateโ€ [scratches her face again] โ€œItโ€™s really your birthday?โ€ โ€œYeahhhโ€ โ€œHow old are you? You must be 40 or so right?โ€ Thing is here in my head I thought I was really lowballing it - as I say the facial features they have make them look really old. Genuinely could not tell, had no mental model for it. Thought in reality though she must have been anywhere up to about 60. The weathered skin, the nasolabial folds, the brow ridgeโ€ฆ โ€œIโ€™m 18 mateโ€ she replies

They will constantly pull you leftward because you allow them to set the terms of engagement. Meanwhile, you hollow out your centre, lose your foundation, and you become a party for nothing, and, therefore, no one. The best plan of action is to advocate openly for Australia.

The insanity of the idea that the Libs mealy-mouthed milquetoast migration policy being called โ€œextremeโ€ and โ€œrace-basedโ€ should be evidence enough to you that they will call you these things no matter. Changing your policies to conform and seem moderate will always fail.
Jacinta Allan@JacintaAllanMP

My thoughts on the Liberalsโ€™ extreme, race-based migration policy: This Trump-style policy will go after Chinese families, Muslims, and even Christians from places like Lebanon and Iraq. It's just unaustralian. In this country, we care about who you are, not where you're from.

Regarding this post, itโ€™s possible to hold all of the following views: - The Trump Administration has badly miscalculated with the war in Iran, which was not in American interests. The Pope is right to push for peace and we support him in this endeavor. - The Presidentโ€™s post against the Pope was both incoherent and imprudent. - The Pope and the clergy have repeatedly inserted themselves into American politics in a manner that is unprecedented during the modern era, particularly in their attempts to impede immigration enforcement. No such attention was ever afforded to the actions of the Biden Administration, despite flagrant violations of Catholic teaching on abortion and transgenderism. - If the clergy choose to directly involve themselves in politics, they are not above criticism for doing so.

Fantastic endorsement of the Trump administration by the guys at the Cato Institute. Really worth a read. My favorite part was the 99.9% drop in asylum requests on the southern border under Trump, the 90% cut in refugee admissions under Trump, and the 90% cut in new H-1B visa issuance under Trump.
David J. Bier@David_J_Bier

Trump has cut legal immigration more than illegal immigration, as I predicted. While illegal entries have fallen, they continued a prior trend, falling more before he came back. Meanwhile, Trump has cut legal entries, reversing the prior upward trend.

Australia has a non-discriminatory immigration program. We do not discriminate based on nationality, race, gender, or faith. But for an immigration program to work in the national interest it must discriminate based on values. The Coalition is going to proudly put Australian values at the heart of immigration policy. Thatโ€™s just one part of our broader agenda which will include bringing immigration numbers down to a sustainable level. The Coalition will make the Australian Values Statement a legally binding and enforceable visa condition for all temporary and permanent visa holders. If a visa holder undermines our democratic values, doesnโ€™t respect the law, or demonstrates they donโ€™t respect our core values, they will be booted out of Australia.

If the problem is merely that the โ€œnumbers are too highโ€, then he fundamentally still believes you should be replaced, just at a slower pace than right now. He has no conviction against migration, nor any of its effects.
Angus Taylor MP@AngusTaylorMP

If Australiaโ€™s success is to continue, we need to take a hard look at our migration system. Right now, the numbers are too high and the standards are too low, and both must change.
