@BBCBreakfast I recently completed my 3yr midwifery degree. My cohort started training on the back end of covid and in the midst of all the negative maternity reports... we thought we would help to make a difference. We are now all 60k in debt & no jobs are available due to NHS budget!

@KasiaLDelgado @theipaper I get ยฃ2k/year NHS grant parental allowance. I don't qualify for parental learning allowance from student finance. I have a student loan ยฃ4k/yr that I'll pay back when I qualify. My childcare bill last week was ยฃ340 with my partner working from home & taking over during the day.

We work unpaid 40 hrs a week, sometimes more, no time for a part time job, academic work on top and run a household, but don't qualify for free childcare hours. A current petition to gov has just reached 10k signatures.
