राज्यसभा में 73 विपक्षी सांसदों ने अभी-अभी अपने सेक्रेटरी जनरल को भारत के राष्ट्रपति को संबोधित प्रस्ताव प्रस्तुत करने के लिए एक नया नोटिस ऑफ मोशन सौंपा है, जिसमें मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त श्री ज्ञानेश कुमार को पद से हटाने का आग्रह किया गया है। यह मांग 15 मार्च 2026 को और उसके बाद उनके द्वारा किए गए कृत्यों और गलतियों के आधार पर सिद्ध दुराचार के आधार पर की गई है, जो भारत के संविधान के अनुच्छेद 324(5) को अनुच्छेद 124(4) के साथ पढ़ते हुए, साथ ही मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त और अन्य चुनाव आयुक्त (नियुक्ति, सेवा की शर्तें और कार्यकाल) अधिनियम, 2023 की धारा 11(2) तथा न्यायाधीश (जांच) अधिनियम, 1968 के अंतर्गत आता है। अब मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त के खिलाफ नौ विशिष्ट आरोप हैं, जिन्हें बेहद विस्तार से दर्ज किया गया है और जिन्हें न तो नकारा जा सकता है और न ही दबाया जा सकता है। उनका पद पर बने रहना संविधान पर एक हमला है। यह पूरी तरह शर्मनाक है कि वह व्यक्ति अब भी पद पर बना हुआ है, ताकि प्रधानमंत्री और गृह मंत्री के इशारों पर काम कर सके।

My loyalty is to the Constitution, and I will decide every matter without fear, without favour, and without stepping down just to appease anyone." My sincere regards to this lady. In a country where some judges forget these very guidelines, she has upheld the impartiality and dignity of the judicial system above everything else. If only we had more such judges in India.
