@MaeDallas @PressSec Huh. So let's take Palantir. They spent over $5M lobbying Congress annually before Trump was elected, & Nancy Pelosi owns over $1/4M in Palantir stock. Trump will move out in 3 years & the ballroom will still be at the WH, but Sherlock here just knows it's corruption! LOL! 🤡

The New York Times had three random people who have “studied fine arts,” “long written about urban planning,” and never built anything to write an article criticizing the new White House ballroom. President Trump and his lead architect have built world-class buildings around the world, and they are ensuring the People’s House finally has a beautiful ballroom that’s been needed for decades — at no expense to the taxpayer.

The New York Times takes an architectural look at the coming White House ballroom and finds there is a lot of ornamental stairs to no where and faux windows with bathroom stalls behind them

@EndWokeness Putting that aside Jackson's moronic argument, I suspect SCOTUS will punt by saying 14A gave Congress the power to decide what "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" means, not the Executive. If I were @realDonaldTrump, I would get on @MikeJohnson ASAP to pass legislation.

@ThomBrady5 Since when is it the responsibility of government to "be in charge of" ensuring 17-year-olds don't make stupid choices? Not to mention: the "adult authority figures" scamming them at colleges are generally leftist faculty and administrators promoting grievance studies.

@Cory38702438622 @shipwreckedcrew Correct. S. 5 grants power to enforce the amendment to CONGRESS, not SCOTUS. So if Congress passes a law defining "subject to the jurisdiction thereof," precedent dictates that SCOTUS's scope is to determine whether Congress has complied, not legislate from the bench.

@stateinfide @shipwreckedcrew Nope. Section 5 of the 14th permits Congress to only pass legislation to “enforce the provisions” of the 14th. Congress is not empowered to pass legislation to define what a word or phrase in the Amendment means. READ THE DAMN AMENDMENT

The birthright citizenship case this morning is really more about politics than it is the law. If the Administration loses nothing of substance will change. But the debate has been joined, and taken to the very highest level of discourse. Two years ago no one would have even imagined this issue would be before the Supreme Court. But Pres. Trump FORCED it there. As is true in many areas of his second term, he has swung for the fences on this topic. It is worth the effort but it falls in the category of "Nothing ventured, nothing gained." Even an adverse decision won't end the debate. It will simply redirect the debate to a different forum where the political branches will need to confront it. The Democrats and open border advocates among the socialists and communists never imagined that the building of their constituencies would come under attack in this fashion. But the debate has exposed that this is about so much more that migrant illegals coming to the US and starting families, with their children being citizens. This is about a vulnerability to our country, our governance, and our culture to the deliberate and purposeful colonization via mass third-world migration with malicious political, cultural, and religious goals.

@Cory38702438622 @shipwreckedcrew "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof." If that phrase has no meaning in modifying the words preceding it, why are they there? It seems to me that Congress can, in fact, define what that phrase means by appropriate legislation.

@shipwreckedcrew Ship, you are cornered by the Amendment. Yes, Section 5 has the directive to pass legislation “to enforce” the Amendment; but that is no foundation to change the clear language of the Amendment. I mean - what valid legislation could even modify the birth citizenship directive?

@MaeDallas @PressSec The WH ballroom is not at the taxpayers' expense; it has been privately funded by generous donations from companies & individuals. Large formal WH events, to date, have been held in tents with porta-potties. That you don't know this says a lot about the value of your opinion.

@David_J_Bier So: If an abusive dad beats up his wife or 1 of his children every night, having more children lessens the wife's & each of her child's odds of being beaten up on a given night. The rate is reduced, but is the family really better off? You think math addresses the real problem?

Honestly impressive statistical illiteracy on display here. No, I'm not saying that immigrants cause Americans to commit fewer crimes. Immigrants lower the crime rate by increasing the population of noncriminals more than the population of criminals. x.com/Oilfield_Rando…
Oilfield Rando@Oilfield_Rando

David’s argument is that bringing foreigners here (some of whom commit crimes) will make it less likely for American criminals to commit crimes. Foreigners can only supplement US crime. Not reduce it. David is a shameless, despicable ideological prostitute.

If the crime rate is lower, your daughter is less likely to be harmed by anyone. Like most nativists, Oilfield Rando can't figure out the difference between a rate and level. (You're MUCH safer in NYC w/ more murders than St. Louis with fewer)

“I’m sorry your daughter was brutally r*ped and m*rdered by an illegal immigrant, but statistically, your daughter was much more likely to be r*ped and m*rdered by a native born US citizen” There is not a circle of Hell hot enough for people like @David_J_Bier.

@NBCNews Trump was dead-on accurate. He did not make fun of the women's team, he brought up their victory & joked that he'd "probably be impeached" if he didn't invite them. He was making fun of scolds like @NBCNews who would make a federal case out of it.

🚨 BREAKING: The truck seen going high speeds the WRONG WAY down a Missouri highway is owned by a SOMALI IN MINNESOTA named Abdiwali Ahmed SHOCKER! Tim Walz's Minnesota granted the driver a license, and he can't even read ROAD SIGNS. It's time to TOTALLY DEFUND Minnesota. They're using federal taxpayer dollars to risk AMERICANS' lives in favor of Somalis. To make matters worse, the company is less than 3 years old, is registered to an APARTMENT, and has only two drivers — one of which can't read signs. Absolutely ABSURD.

The quiet moments are often the most important. Last night just before Cabinet members walked onto the House floor for the President’s State of the Union, we joined together in prayer, giving all thanks and praise to God, and praying for the clarity and strength to listen to Him, serve Him, and do His will.
