@sow_LIBRA11 I think many of us know that most mangaka, animators, and game developers are not rich. But the executives at Sony and Kadokawa (who are wealthy) are not paying them higher salaries regardless of how many copies are sold or how many times it's viewed on legal streaming services

@magozone23 I am quite sad to read what you wrote friend. However i am fan of nier and i am not going to skip playing predecessor of nier (drakengard) because you don't sell it here. Also i heard conan the barbarian is not accesible in japan.Don't worry, enjoy it via torrent. Not a crime.

@magozone23 Sorry , but what you are failing to understand is here "overseas" we are not getting the same stuff you get now. There's a delay in publishing, and mangas that does not blow up in Japan wont come here. We don't have the means to read the manga that are pirated officially.

@ts_a0d It's not the case that "I pirated a game to persuade the company to release their work." That would be insane. For the fan that bought the copy to share with others, the feeling is more like, "hey, check this out, it's incredible!" and as it happens, the work is unavailable

Very often, people who come to Japan will remark on how safe it seems. How people leave laptops open on café tables unattended without fear of theft. This is because, largely, Japan is a high-trust, high-compliance society, and that comes with rigid intolerance for misbehavior.
