🔴Excited to share my TED AI talk! How we advance AI into an era of superintelligence, with true *practical* impact in our world. ❓I ask: For all the groundbreaking milestones we’ve reached, all the intelligence benchmarks we’ve shattered, for the $53B invested in generative AI companies 2023-2024 combined, why *hasn’t* AI transformed our day to day lives in more meaningful ways? I dream about a world where AI is capable of taking on human workloads, even superhuman workloads, that produce economically valuable work. I’d like to see AI not just as an intelligent companion, but instead, autonomous agents that do our work better and faster, and advance the frontier of any field. At @sequoia we've partnered with founders to build the future I dream of: ✅ A world of fully autonomous coding agents at the level of a 10x engineer, as Github CEO @ashtom envisions. (We're building this @reflection_ai!) ✅ AI pentesters from @Xbow built by OG Github Copilot creator @oegerikus ✅ A revolution in AI drug design and development from @Xaira_Thera ✅ A world with embodied intelligence in our physical world, with breakthroughs led by @SkildAI Gradually... then suddenly. What a time to be alive! This is the arrival of *accessible supply of superhuman capability*, and it will redefine the frontier of human progress. We’re at the dawn of a new era… So to all the builders out there, this is *your* time to build this era of superintelligence with real *practical* impact. Today, we're promoting Ashraf Alkarmi to co-CEO of @Dropbox. Ashraf and I will jointly lead the company, and after a transition period, I'll move into the role of executive chairman and Ashraf will be sole CEO. Ashraf has transformed our core business since joining — the business has gotten stronger every quarter under his leadership, and he's the leader I trust to run this company. What’s next for me: my focus right now is making sure Dropbox is in the strongest possible shape. But knowing myself, it won't be long before I'm getting credit card alerts for my Cursor token spend.

人工智能大神Andrej Karpathy最新访谈里讲述了AI时代软件会消失吗?软件3.0时代的形态是什么?人类的角色转变将走向哪里? 29分钟的访谈非常值得看一遍,Karpathy的核心观点总结如下五条: 1. 软件 3.0:LLM成为新的计算平台 过去软件靠人写死代码;软件3.0里,LLM像一台新电脑,人用自然语言、上下文和工具来驱动它。程序不再只是代码,而是“目标 + 资料 + 指令 + 反馈循环”。 2. 开发者从写代码,变成指挥AI Vibe Coding让普通人也能快速做产品原型;但真正高质量的软件,仍需要专业人士把关。未来开发者更像导演,负责设计架构、分配任务、检查质量,而不是亲手写每一行代码。 3. AI很强,但强得不均匀 AI在代码、数学这类容易验证对错的任务上进步最快。但在常识、商业判断、复杂现实问题上,仍可能犯低级错误。所以关键任务里,人类检查和判断仍不可替代。 4. 未来软件会从“人操作”变成“AI操作” 现在的软件是给人点按钮、看菜单、填表格用的。未来很多软件会变成AI背后的工具层。AI直接读数据、调接口、生成结果,人只负责提出目标和验收结果。 5. 人类价值从执行力转向理解力 AI 会让写代码、查资料、做报告变得很便宜。但真正稀缺的是:你是否知道要什么,能否判断结果好坏,能否设计正确方向。也就是 Karpathy 说的:可以外包思考,但不能外包理解。

Karpathy'nin AI Ascent 26' konuşmasını ancak izleme fırsatım oldu. Daha önce üzerine hiç düşünmediğim bazı paradigma değişikliklerini farkettim. Doğrulanabilirliğin ileriye dönük olarak bir kısıt olarak görülmesinin ana sebebi ise aradan insan kontrolünü çıkartabilmek için bir gereksinim olması. Yazılım mühendisliği süreçlerini insan odaklı ve agentic odaklı olarak ayırmak gerekebilir. Agentic süreçlere hiç geleneksel SDLC (yazılım geliştirme süreçlerini) dahil etmeden, Karpathy'nin "yazılım mühendisliği 3.0" olarak söz ettiği paradigmayı tamamen agentic odaklı olarak tasarlamak gerekebilir. これはやばい時代の変化。LLMは「既存作業を速くする道具」だけじゃない、という話Sequoiaの対談で、LLMによって生まれる新しい体験の例をいくつか挙げている。ポイントは、コーディング高速化みたいな既存業務の改善ではなく、LLMがあるから初めて成立するアプリやユーザー行動が出てくること。ここを見落とすと、AIプロダクトはだいたい「既存機能にAIを足しただけ」になる。もちろん最初は効率化でいい。でも競争優位になるのは、速くなった部分ではなく、AI前提でユーザーの行動そのものが変わる部分なんだと思う。 「どの作業をAIで速くするか」より、「AIがあることで、今まで存在しなかった使い方は何か」を先に問いたい。
