My dad joined Applied Materials in 1988. He worked day and night, came up with lots of patents that remain pivotal to some of the company’s main products, and was one of the engineers that made it great. He had a good run, and retired in 2012 - as many others joined what they thought was a mature company with a steady paycheck and a boring stock. Sometimes life is just about timing.

Need to be able to control growth, and being able to do that with exceptional viral loops will only amplify your control. Can’t be a public or venture outcome size co without control of growth. Have seen very few not stall out getting to -let alone going beyond -a couple hundred million without it

Even Facebook and Slack continued to do tons of growth-marketing, even though both had one of the biggest viral coefficients in history. “Viral” does 𝘯𝘰𝘵 make you grow as much as you wish. Especially not early on, but not even at scale.

When you hear "founders in the current YC batch swear by it," that is a serious predictor of success. They are sophisticated judges of technology, and they won't use something merely out of loyalty to their batchmates.
Grey Baker@greybaker

Ploy (@ployai) turns your website into a complete marketing platform. It's built by the former co-founder of Webflow, and the founders in the current YC batch swear by it. Now everyone has access. Congrats on the launch @bryantchou!

Many jobs have become building systems with agents, not building agent harnesses. There is a very big difference in AI outcomes for those who understand the job.

Ploy built thousands of personalized landing pages for us in seconds.

AI is making marketers lazy. So we made the website do the work instead. Today, we're launching @ployai: the all-in-one marketing platform that turns your website into your hardest working employee. And we're coming out of stealth today with a $27M seed led by @ycombinator and @firstround. I spent 12 years at Webflow as the founding CTO where I built the product, but also started our marketing and sales teams that drove our fastest periods of growth. That experience made one thing obvious: the website is the center of your business. And it's only more important in the age of AI. Foundation model apps can generate assets. Point solutions can optimize pieces of the funnel. But nothing runs the whole growth system: your site, brand, CMS, CRM, campaigns, analytics, SEO, AEO, and customer data all working together. Until now. Teams at @hex_tech and @clay_run, and growth agencies like Tonik and TNT Growth, are already powering sites on Ploy. Hex is generating on-brand ABM pages at scale, Clay is using its data to power a programmatic SEO engine, and TNT Growth is spinning up a landing page for each of their clients’ ads. Wake up every morning with a report from Ploy - with what it did, and what it wants to do next. Approve it. Ship it. Or be lazy and just watch it cook.

Every time I vibe code a little website with a few paragraphs of description I am reminded of all the people that coded these manually for so many years. With AI we are all standing (and training) on the shoulders of giants

@MarcusMilione My figma bull case is that I tried to use Claude design to create a block diagram for me and it was very painful relative to figma

I agree with this. Stock has been hammered There is an easy bear case for Figma. AI (tools), and the leading labs that develop these products put out new “use case” tools at what seems like a weekly cadence. Each time a lab releases a tool aimed at solving designs and creative work, the Figma stock takes a blow. I’m not worried about whether AI can generate an interface or a design, I know this to be true. It can. I view this thesis from that lens. Every company, team, founder, PM, marketer, analyst, and agent can generate design and interfaces (relatively) cheaply… and so, what happens next? If software creation goes up 10x or 100x, does Figma become less a less important tool/product? Or is there a world where Figma become the place where all of that generated product work gets made coherent? I think the bull case boils down to how well it can capitalize on coordination, design systems, governance, approval, and institutional product memory. Figma is fighting to become the organizational control plane through which AI-generated interfaces become ready for production.
Owen Roe@owen_roe

I shit on Figma for their AI fumble but their stock decline is absurd and disproportionate extremely good deal at a tiny $10B market cap

Meet Workflows: performance optimization that never clocks out. Scheduled automations that run your daily optimizations, reporting, alerts, and scaling - grounded in your data, goals, and guardrails. It's approval-first, with room to hand over more as you go. You set the strategy, your coworker executes it. Check out more on Workflows here: roadwayai.com

Agents and their workflows know my goal, funnel, and guardrail context, they sit directly on top of my full-funnel measurement data and can take actions across all the ad platforms. And they take minutes to set up. Get in touch here if you want us to set your team up: roadwayai.com

This campaign building, optimizations, measurement, experiments, and reporting used to eat multiple days per week. Now I do this while i pour coffee. 1. Wake up, check performance in my daily report 2. Review new target experiments my agent launched 3. Review copy iteration experiments launched 4. Review optimizations made on existing campaigns 5. Give it a few ideas for additional expansion campaigns, approve them Get back to the real work. It's still a weird feeling to work this way tbh.
