@ArnieTTR @hawkhampshire They tried to sign a domestic batsman last season but none came. We did well to get Lehmann on a British passport. He may take time to get used to county cricket.

Delighted to say I’m speaking to Russell Domingo tomorrow afternoon. Will be very interesting to hear his reaction to the defeat v Essex.

@DorsetMel @hawkhampshire Good point. Yorkshire will be just as difficult for example. 4 of the bowlers average in the 20s per wicket and Jhye is back. Lyth in the batting too regularly does well against Hants.

@hawkhampshire What concerns me is its the same as last year, that we haven't changed or learnt. We were very lucky to stay up. Early days but same old. Essex are a good team but it seems that every other team will have a player who stands up each game (may be different players each game).

@win_tips Yes Davis would have been shorter on a few occasions, Hendry and O'Sullivan too but not for a long time.

@DataBayes Not often the Crucible favourite is that short in the betting or shorter. Maybe when Hendry or Ronnie were at their peak?

@win_tips Will have to be against Zhao at 5/2. Obvously deserves to be fav but we've yet to see what he's made of in a close,important match, admittedly due to his excellence. I backed Murphy a few months ago.

@hawkhampshire Agree Hawk. Hants do tend to start seasons poorly and get better. The batting though isn’t a one off poor performance. It will sadly likely continue.

Instead of responding to the mountain of messages (ironic given my view currently) . Just like Saints’ start to the season or Pompey’s 6-1 defeat to QPR, you can’t judge a coach or a squad or a plan on one defeat. Shocker, yes. But a pointer for the next 13 matches? No.
