Yield Basics:> Part 4 of 4 "I'll just hold and wait for the bull market." Okay. But here's what 'doing nothing' actually costs: If you hold $10,000 USDC for 12 months earning 0%: End value: $10,000 If you earn 8% APY on that same USDC: End value: $10,800 You left $800 on the table. For free. Now scale that: $50,000 × 8% = $4,000/year in yield $100,000 × 8% = $8,000/year in yield Doing nothing isn't 'safe.' It's expensive. Yield Basics: Part 2 of 4 “Is 15% APY safe? What about 30%?” Not all yields are created equal. Here is a simple way to think about it: > LOW RISK (5–8% APY) SOL staking or stablecoin lending on established protocols. Your capital remains relatively stable with minimal downside. > MEDIUM RISK (8–15% APY) Mixed strategies such as lending combined with LP positions on blue chip pairs. Some exposure to price movement, but still relatively balanced. > HIGHER RISK (15%+ APY) Leveraged strategies, newer protocols, or volatile pairs. Higher potential rewards, but capital can disappear much faster. A simple rule of thumb: If you cannot explain where the yield comes from, you might be the yield.

Yield Basics: Part 1 of 4 "Where does yield on Solana actually come from?" Not magic. Not Ponzi. Here's the real answer: 1/ SOL Staking (~7% APY) You help secure the Solana network. Validators pay you. 2/ Lending (5-15% APY) You lend your tokens on Kamino, Marginfi, or Loopscale. Borrowers pay interest. 3/ Liquidity Provision (variable) You supply tokens to DEXs like Jupiter or Raydium. Traders pay swap fees. 4/ Protocol Incentives (variable) New protocols distribute tokens to attract liquidity. This is the riskiest and most temporary source. yields.so bundles sources 1, 2, and 3 into one-click vaults. We minimize reliance on source 4 because those dry up. Real yield > token emissions.
