Hot take: Shopify should let you spin up a quick duplicate of your store for testing apps, theme changes, etc. Just enable a bogus gateway like partner test stores.

@papodoki Yeah, but not all the things like settings and apps . You also can’t run a test transaction against that copy.

@matthewsmith Why not? I get the preview link and test everything before pushing to main store.

@papodoki Doesn’t the preview link still go to the payment gateway in settings? How would I test say an app that affects payment?

@matthewsmith Payment gateway wasn't my use-case but I believe it uses the same settings on the main store.
