You spent $40,000 on ads to bring people to your store. Then you greeted them with a popup that says "SPIN THE WHEEL FOR 10% OFF!" That's not marketing. That's an expensive way to humiliate your own brand.

@matthewsmith Payment gateway wasn't my use-case but I believe it uses the same settings on the main store.

@papodoki Doesn’t the preview link still go to the payment gateway in settings? How would I test say an app that affects payment?

Hot take: Shopify should let you spin up a quick duplicate of your store for testing apps, theme changes, etc. Just enable a bogus gateway like partner test stores.

@matthewsmith Why not? I get the preview link and test everything before pushing to main store.

@papodoki Yeah, but not all the things like settings and apps . You also can’t run a test transaction against that copy.

Your customer owes you nothing. Not their attention. Not their email. Not their trust. Not their money. Everything is earned. Or it is taken. The brands that earn it will survive. The ones that take it are building on borrowed time. Earned Attention is not a tactic. It is a philosophy.

Two months of watching. A question for everyone following: Can you honestly say your operation passes all three? TASTE — Is your customer's experience elegant, or an obstacle course? THINKING — Are your decisions backed by data, or by gut feeling and whatever your competitor did? TRUTH — Is everything your customer sees — every timer, every stock count, every "limited offer" — actually real? If you pass all three, you are in a rare minority. If you did not — at least now you know where to start.

@can1justbeme @tobi Why do you use "List" as data type? Most of the time I use JSON for meta objects so I can organize it better ;)

@papodoki @tobi So I have to register single data that looks like this —> “Blue and white”, just so I can display this data on product description template seamlessly. Otherwise it shows up with a massive dot (bullet point) and has buffer around data too. So there’s awkward spaces around text.

@can1justbeme @tobi I see now! Why you don't use META OBJECTS? With Meta Objects you can organize the data better and format it as you wish...

@papodoki @tobi Also, it doesn’t work well for specialized shop. Like we sell rings only. But rings can be fashion ring, engagement ring, custom ring etc and want to assign different sets of metadata for each category but they ALL fall under “Rings”. So I have to assign irrelevant category.

@can1justbeme @tobi I get your point. It’s a perfect feature, coming with learning curve. When you get it, it’s FANTASTIC 👌

@papodoki @tobi I wish they improve their metadata features. Nessesary feature but very user unfriendly because its structure is too rigid😓

@AnthonyLapietra I'm not fan of kaching but to be honest it's all the offer. It's impossible make this offer more aesthetically pleasing... Why there are lot's of "frees", "gifts". Just kill it....
