There’s the BAT we all know - BAT the man, the Jagaban, GCFR And then there’s the other BAT - the group - Buhari, Atiku, Tinubu - one of the most formidable political coalitions in Nigerian history, and a key reason why 2015 went the way it did. 2011 was the first attempt at bringing all 3 together into coalition - but it didn’t quite succeed. Four years later, 2015, a different story, delivering an unprecedented electoral upset and redrawing of Nigeria’s political map. Every presidential election between 2003 and 2027 will have at least one of the trio on the ballot. Sometimes 2, like in 2007, 2019, 2023, 2027. 2019 in fact was B vs A 2023: With B out of the picture, leading contenders were A vs T (and of course PO in the picture) 2027 will likely be, not only the last showdown between A and T, but also the last election in which BAT (the man / the men) will ever contest in any presidential election in Nigeria.
