He’s never started a senior game for Ireland despite a couple of cameo appearances. But this camp and the game against Grenada feels like the perfect opportunity for him to really lay a marker down. With rotation expected and Ireland crying out at times for a midfielder capable of taking the ball on the half turn, progressing us up the pitch and playing with bravery and quality in possession, Moran has all the tools to thrive. Whether that’s as a number 10 higher up the pitch slipping balls in behind and driving forward, or deeper where he can dictate play and get Ireland on the front foot. This really feels like a huge opportunity for Andrew Moran now. The talent is unquestionable. Now it’s about grabbing this chance and showing everyone exactly what he’s capable of in green.
