The state government has cleared Abakpa Market of all traffic and challenged them to the new bus terminal. Abakpa is now looking sane.

WATER GALLERIES: THE CURRENT SITUATION OF WATER AFTER 180 DAYS OF PROMISE During campaigns, they made a promise to give ndi Enugu water in just 180 days. Many argued this and believed that giving ndi Enugu water shouldn't be used to play politics. After inauguration, they started constructing water galleries across strategic points within the state. Some said this project will either be abandoned, would lead to long queues and its negative effects, while some believed it would deface the city, and a few others accepted the project wholeheartedly. A few months later, it was observed that some were not stationed where people needed them. Some were constructed along major roads in commercial areas. Approaching 180 days, the govt declared 25th Nov 2023 as WATER DAY. It was on that day that they cut the ribbon at 9th mile water scheme with fine fine pictures saying they have delivered on their promise, ndi Enugu should go and enjoy water 24/7 😤 The truth remains as of that day some of the water galleries were still under construction, while some that have been completed are yet to start functioning. As of today; * Some of the water galleries were not completed * The ones completed didn't serve the people for long * Some have been destroyed to make room for road construction * Some turned to monuments, as play ground for kids while some are gradually turning into a farm This begs the question; * Was the project not properly planned, and why were they stationed so close to the road? * What is the hope of the people who had hoped on getting water from the water galleries? * What is the plan to complete the water galleries? * Will the project ever be completed? We might have written a long epistle here, but this is just a reminder that when this project started, many were sceptical about it, some even prophesied how it would all end. SSA even said that this project is to compensate ndi Enugu for not having water for too long 🤣 We were also attacked online and offline, called unprintable names, for amplifying the opinions of ndi Enugu. It is sad that most of our concerns just played out before our eyes. Ka chineke mezie okwu✌️ #CoalCityConnect

What If Electricity Becomes Rationed Like Monday Sit-At-Home Across The South East Geopolitical Region? A few weeks back, Vanguard published a news quoting IPOB's secretary, Emma Powerful as Mandating EEDC To Leave The South East Region over Poor Electricity Supply. As a customer of EEDC, is this going to be another socio-economic vacuum as the Monday Sit-At-Home has negatively affected the region? #CoalCityConnect

Did you know that Ojukwu was the one that mordenized the Nigerian Army Uniform? In 1963, as the first indigenous Quartermaster-General of the Nigerian Army, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu modernised the Nigerian Army uniform and also started the production of the uniforms in Nigeria. Previously, Nigerian soldiers wore colonial uniforms (shorts) that were made in Britain. Truly no tribe in Nigeria is as patriotic as Ndi Igbo, it was actually the betrayal of our patriotism that resulted to the civil war.

A follower shared her experience in the hands of kidnappers in Enugu and how she and her husband escaped being kidnapped. According to the voice note narrating the incident, the narrator and her husband boarded a cab around the Gariki axis of Enugu. She explained that inside the cab was another passenger fully dressed as a Nigerian Army personnel, making them feel safe to board the cab. They later went on to realise that the soldier was also part of the kidnappers who tried to kidnap them before onlookers came to their rescue. Though the kidnappers escaped, the couple lived to tell the tale. Its safe to say that the security situation in Enugu has grown to the extent that everyone should be more careful, as all might not really be as they seem. Listen to the 7 minutes voicenote and share to raise awareness. @Coal__City

Today, we took a stroll to Ogbete to go see how business is going there on Monday. You can recall that the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) had initially called for Sit At Home in the South Eastern part of Nigeria, following the detention of their leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. The Sit At Home was supposed to take place every Mondays of the week. Armed men were recorded moving around cities and villages within the South East, enforcing the Sit At Home. The governor of Enugu State, Peter Mbah, in a bid to end the Sit At Home, which according to him, was in detriment of the state and the region as a whole, re-enforced a cancellation of the Sit At Home in Enugu, which resulted to a protest, that claimed the life of a young man. Since then, the state government has been making intentional moves to make sure business activities resume on Mondays in the state. In our series 'Sit At Home Compliance', we went to Ogbete, the biggest market in Enugu State, and this was how much business activities we noticed going on in the place when we arrived. How are business activities in your area on Mondays? . . #CoalCityConnect

All those mansions you are seeing all over the Internet were built by men and women who were left with almost nothing after the Biafran war. With pride and dignity, Ndi Igbo are rebuilding their homes, villages and themselves. As you can see in this video, we are not ashamed of who we are or what we do to make money, Ndi Igbo will always find a way where there's no way. After the war, every Igbo man was left with nothing more than 2 pounds to start life with. But they are not the type to complain, they went back home and started rebuilding, flourishing and expanding, touching every line of business, industry and commerce. You cannot achieve all of this and not celebrate it, that is why you are seeing the beauty of our Home Coming. Retweet if you are proud to be Igbo..
