@RevKimWChafee Then say that. Because providing healthcare is done only through government. I would imagine that we are more alike than you would think. However, depending on a government that closes food lines because they aren’t government sponsored is not part of the teachings. 😉

The OP doesn't claim that feeding the children, etc., is the government's job. It's about being a Christian and recognizing what Jesus actually taught about our relationship with the people mentioned. I have no propaganda to push. I encourage folks to follow the teachings of Christ.

If your version of Christianity depends on an hegemonic government that can take away everything you depend upon, don’t talk about following the Christ, who was killed by a hegemonic government.

@RevKimWChafee Feeding children is not the government’s job. Helping your neighbor is not the government’s job. But, keep twisting the teachings as your propaganda. Reducing the size and scope of government is imperative to live in harmony.

@TheSCIF But as he says, if you falsely claim to be eligible to vote, you risk being referred for criminal prosecution. The risk of being prosecuted for a felony massively outweighs the benefit you get from casting one illegal vote.

Oh, how adorable. The DEMOCRAT side of the Joint Economic Committee — not a nonpartisan research organization, not an independent think tank, but literally the Democrat caucus of the JEC — published a report concluding that Democrats are better for the economy. I, for one, am absolutely SHOCKED. This is the intellectual equivalent of asking Pepsi whether Pepsi or Coke tastes better and then citing the result as settled science. The half-baked, dim-witted methodology here would earn a failing grade in my class. So let me provide the context they conveniently left out. PROBLEM 1: THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT WRITE THE BUDGET Eighth-grade civics. Article I, Section 7 of the Constitution — not a complex document, despite what the knuckle-draggers in the Democrat caucus seem to believe — is unambiguous: ALL revenue bills originate in the HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES. The Senate approves it. The president signs or vetoes. That is the process. The president proposes a budget that Congress throws directly into the recycling bin and then writes their own. So when you credit a Democrat president for a booming economy, you are conveniently ignoring which party controlled the House — and more importantly — whether anyone had the 60 SENATE VOTES needed to move significant fiscal legislation. You need sixty. Not 51. SIXTY. The greatest economic mind ever to hold the presidency cannot move a single fiscal dollar without those 60 votes and a cooperative House majority. The president is not a king. No matter how much the Democrat Party has been quietly expanding executive authority every single time they hold a majority — specifically so the NEXT Democrat president can inherit more unilateral power than the Founders ever intended any single human being to possess. Then, the instant a Republican wins, they suddenly rediscover the importance of checks and balances. Remarkable timing. PROBLEM 2: CORRELATION IS NOT CAUSATION (A BASIC SCIENCE LESSON) I teach this concept to teenagers. Apparently the JEC Democrat staff missed the unit. The economy does not reset on Inauguration Day. Policies take YEARS to affect measurable outcomes. Reagan's 1981 tax cuts and deregulation? The full economic impact landed in the mid-to-late 1980s and carried into the 1990s. Clinton did not "create" the tech boom — he inherited an economy already primed by twelve years of Republican supply-side policy. And Clinton's own deregulation — the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, the Commodity Futures Modernization Act — planted the landmines that detonated into the 2008 financial crisis on George W. Bush's watch. So tell me: who gets the credit? Who gets the blame? PROBLEM 3: THE CLINTON SURPLUS WAS BUILT BY NEWT GINGRICH Let me tell you something about the Clinton economy that Democrats love to bring up at dinner parties. In 1994, the American people were so fed up with two years of Democrat trifecta governance — the failed $800 billion stimulus, the attempted government takeover of healthcare, and the tax hikes — that they handed Republicans 54 House seats and 8 Senate seats in a single election. The largest midterm wave in 40 years. The Republican Revolution. Speaker Newt Gingrich walked in with the Contract with America. Welfare reform. Spending caps. A balanced budget amendment. Capital gains tax cuts. And here is the part that makes liberals furious: CLINTON SIGNED IT. Not because he wanted to. Because he had no choice. The Welfare Reform Act of 1996 — which Clinton vetoed TWICE before finally signing — broke the cycle of generational dependency and drove down poverty rates. The capital gains tax cut of 1997? A Republican bill. Clinton signed it. Investment flooded back into the market. The tech boom exploded. Tax REVENUES increased because economic activity increased — the exact argument Republicans always make about cutting investment taxes, and they were CORRECT. The spending discipline that produced the surplus? Republicans dragged Clinton to the table. What did Clinton do when he had FULL Democrat control of Congress in 1993-1994? Raised taxes. Ran deficits. Tried to nationalize healthcare. It was ONLY after Republicans took the House that anything changed. Clinton deserves credit for being smart enough to accept reality and sign the bills. That is called governing. But the JEC Democrat report does not mention Newt Gingrich. Not a word about the Contract with America. Not a word about which party wrote the balanced budget legislation. The Clinton economic miracle was a BIPARTISAN product with Republicans doing most of the fiscal heavy lifting — and Democrats have claimed 100% of the credit for it ever since. PROBLEM 4: THE COVID JOB MATH TRICK The report brags that Biden "created" 16.2 million jobs. Here is what that witless talking point actually represents. COVID shut down approximately 22 million jobs in roughly 60 days in 2020. Those jobs did not "disappear" — workers were temporarily laid off during a global pandemic. They were ALWAYS going to come back when the economy reopened. Counting pandemic recovery hiring as Biden "job creation" is like a fireman burning down your house, helping rebuild it, and then demanding credit for construction work. Pre-COVID Trump economy: 3.5% unemployment — a 50-year low. Lowest Black unemployment in recorded American history. Lowest Hispanic unemployment ever recorded. Real wage growth concentrated in the LOWEST income quintile. All of it conveniently missing from the report. PROBLEM 5: THE "10 OF 11 RECESSIONS" TRICK This claim requires the same kind of selective memory that gets people fired from honest professions. 2001 recession: The dot-com bubble inflated under Clinton and popped the week Bush took office. The NASDAQ lost 78% of its value before Bush signed a single piece of legislation. 2008 recession: The housing bubble was fueled by expanded Community Reinvestment Act mandates, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac pressure to lower lending standards, and Clinton-era financial deregulation. Bush inherited the structural fragility. 2020 recession: A global pandemic. Not an economic policy. Not a Republican decision. A VIRUS. The idea that this qualifies as a Republican economic failure is the kind of reasoning that would embarrass a first-year logic student. PROBLEM 6: WHAT THE REPORT DOES NOT MENTION ABOUT BIDEN'S AUTOPEN Biden's Autopen presided over the worst inflation in 40 years, peaking at 9.1% in June 2022. American households lost an estimated $7,400 in real purchasing power over those four years. Credit card debt hit record highs. Housing affordability reached its lowest level since the 1980s. Grocery prices increased approximately 25% cumulative. These are not abstractions. I feed a family of six on a teacher's salary. I live this math every week. The report also ignores which party controlled Congress during ALL of these periods — because Congress writes the spending bills. The Constitution assigns appropriations power to the LEGISLATIVE branch. But acknowledging that would complicate the narrative. THE BOTTOM LINE This "report" is a political press release dressed in committee letterhead. It ignores economic inheritance, misattributes pandemic recovery as policy genius, erases the Republican Congress that actually built the Clinton surplus, glosses over Biden-era inflation that gutted working-class families, and applies a methodology so slanted it would not survive peer review in any credible academic journal. Quinn's Law #6: FACTS are the enemy of liberalism. This report is a masterclass in avoiding them. Quinn's Law #14: Liberalism is based on unproved — and often DISPROVED — theory. Two for two. Quinn's Law #2: If you want to know what liberals are doing, pay attention to what they accuse conservatives of doing. They scream about kings and authoritarians while systematically building a more powerful executive branch for themselves, election cycle after election cycle. Article I. Section 7. The House writes the check. The Senate clears the account. The president signs his name — and apparently even THAT is now done by an autopen. But what do I know — I am only a science teacher who has spent twenty years teaching the difference between correlation and causation, making sure my students understand that two things happening at the same time does not mean one caused the other. Teenagers get this by the end of the unit. Apparently, the JEC Democrats never took the class. #MAGA #Trump #Veterans

Here in NW Ohio, gas prices are rising fast. It’s unaffordable for our people. It’s a tax when you go to work, a tax if you go to church, a tax if you go to the grocery store. It’s President Trump’s War on Iran, but our people are the one’s paying the price.

Here’s something you might not know if you’re not super rich. Today is the day that people who make $1 million a year stop paying into Social Security. Working people pay all year, but the rich get a break. Lift the cap and pull millions of seniors out of poverty.

Dear Chuck Schumer, Hi. Black dude here. I can trace my family ancestry to slavery. I even know where they were slaves. My mom experienced Jim Crow. I think I’ve watched every episode of “Eyes On the Prize” when I was younger. With that said… Can you directly explain to me how the SAVE Act is “Jim Crow 2.0?” Literally every black person I know has ID. Literally every black person I know has a car or at least a ride. Literally every black person I know knows how to vote (well… except the ones with felonies… but they don’t count). With your advanced white liberal thinking, you must know more than me. Apparently, as I experience daily on this app, white liberals are experts on being black; even more so than actual black folks. Perhaps you could explain it like I’m five. I’d look it up on the internet, but Kathy Hochul has already told me I don’t know what a computer is and Joe Biden said I can’t navigate it, anyway. Looking forward to your answer. No hugs. Zeek
