One thing about adulthood that way too many people learn way too late (and have no choice but to learn the hard way): you have to be deliberate/proactive about everything. For the first time in your life, you can't be passive participant in anything.

One thing nobody tells you about adulthood is how fun it is to become your own person. One day you randomly start liking jazz, olive green, expensive dark chocolate, documentaries about volcanoes, weird lamps, sparkling water, books about loneliness in Tokyo, silver jewelry and quiet cafés. Your personality keeps unfolding forever if you let it.

Adulting advice? Learn to enjoy your own company. Go on solo dates, travel alone, explore new places, and drink iced coffee in random cafés. Don’t wait for permission to do what makes you happy. There’s peace in being alone and simply being yourself.
