I'm no longer impressed by missions to Africa. I feel like it'd be easy to live in a guarded church compound and amaze a people who never figured out how to dig holes. I'd be impressed by anyone who can motivate a small white town in the US, because nobody seems able to do that.

@jzipple I mean he's woke in the sense that his politics are guided by what is fashionable to advocate for instead of principled consistency. Sometimes he's right. Other times he just seems completely unaware or one sided.

@realDrTT I agree that this puts Catholics in danger. America has a very virulent anti-Catholic history, and it remains dormant to this day. Many Catholics do not seem to be aware that they could undo decades of integration and reawaken a Bill the Butcher inside of every WASP.

I am a devout Roman Catholic, and I am also a Trump supporter. Do I agree with everything that this administration says and does based on my Catholic faith? Of course not. However, there is a very well-orchestrated effort to drive a wedge between conservatism and Catholicism, and that is a disgusting abuse of our faith. Catholicism is not a vehicle for your personal politics, and using it as such is so profoundly profane. Driving MAGA Protestants to hate Catholics does not serve Catholics — it puts them in danger. No self-professed Catholic should ever put their political ideologies over their brothers and sisters in the Body of Christ. People like Christopher Hale spreading unsubstantiated stories of the Pentagon threatening the Vatican should be absolutely ashamed and repent of this profound mortal sin.
