Pep Guardiola on why he chose to attack relentlessly vs Real Madrid (A): “I wanted to show the Bernabeu, and wanted to know every time - the right side less with Savio - on the left with Jeremy [Doku] for his special quality, arriving in the byline six times, people in the box to try to score, make players feel or the Bernabeu feel, that we came to try to score goals..." @GeronimoMorgans @ManCity I am pretty sure a lot of people think City will beat Arsenal. Nobody thinks they are a great unbeatable team.

We're heading to Wembley with a 1% chance of winning. No one's on our side but us. No one believes but us. No one has faith but us. No one has hope but us. No one's backing us but us. It's us against the world. It's us against a team chasing a quadruple. Rise up, @ManCity. Just for today.

@Mrcryptoxwhale I don't think you can buy something unless it's from the owner. How did that go?

@reddit_lies No, it is something that is needed, you snowflake. It doesn't have to suppress anything. The algo can stay the same.
English

This is a bad idea.
One of the reasons Reddit is so bad was because of the upvote/downvote system. If dislikes suppress posts in the timeline, X will rapidly descend into an echochamber.

🚨#BREAKING: X (formerly Twitter) has officially begun rolling out a new “Dislike” button for replies. Dislike counts won’t be visible publicly instead, they’ll be used privately to help improve reply rankings and overall conversation quality, similar to how Reddit’s downvote system works.

@AFC_OlaitaN And it was a superb first half display and I respect them more for it.

Newcastle United really fumbled…they massively overrated their own abilities. In the Premier League, you’ll never see them play beautiful football against the top teams.
They mostly rely on physicality, low blocks, long balls and transition threats. But this season they’ve hurt themselves by buying into the narratives and their players have fallen victim to it too.
Gordon’s quote: “Teams in the UCL don’t play long balls and low blocks, they play football the way it should be played… that’s why we score so many goals in UCL games.”
Instead of playing Barcelona with respect the way they used to approach Arsenal or City, they went toe to toe.

English

@ARmastrangelo No. There are things that are funny the first time you see them, even if they are kind of stupid. After that, they just seem stupid.
English

I cannot blame anyone, except Bernardo Silva, even if we argue that it's a 50/50 call, one shouldn't do that, especially if you are the captain of the football club.
One stupid move ruined the entire tie for us, as we were slowly coming back in.
I can't blame anyone else though, not the players, not Pep, not anyone.
We have to look ahead and end this season on a high.

Jeremy Doku on @BernardoCSilva's emotions after his red card vs Real Madrid: "He's our captain, I think he's most disappointed of all of us. But it's not his fault, he tried to defend..." [via @primevideosport] #UCL

Gianluigi Donnarumma: “We played a great game [vs Real Madrid], plenty of chances. With 11 men, it would've been completely different. They were better, scored more than us. I think qualification was decided in the first leg, after that it’s all uphill.
"We have to accept it. There are important games to play, the disappointment is huge. But we’ll have to get back on our feet because on Sunday we already have a title to bring home..." [via @SkySport/@Sport_Witness]

@thecityshack Seems out of place. Pep has not found his best use case yet.

@donnarumma @ChampionsLeague @ManCity Great energy yesterday! Exactly what we wanted to see.
And we also see that you are heart and soul with us. Respect big man!

Thank you for following us home and away throughout Europe this season 🩵
Our @ChampionsLeague journey comes to an end but there’s a lot left to play for, with another huge game on Sunday! Come on CITY!

@CitehSide 1. No it's not justified. It was an honest mistake, trying to help.
That is all.
English

Listen, two things can be right at the same time.
1. We can all agree that Bernardo Silva made a mess last night, no doubt, and should be criticised for the same, no doubt. I am damn sure that he will be feeling much worse than most of us right now, but again, the criticism for last night's performance is justified. As far as the penalty shootout miss in the 2023/24 campaign is concerned, we can't blame him for that, as I have seen people do on this platform. That's not right.
2. We can acknowledge that there is no treble without him, too. So, the criticism shouldn't turn into disrespect in a way that negates his vital contributions to the club's success, alright?
It's pretty simple, we lost, and let's move ahead now. We cannot do much about the nitty gritty's around the game.
Relax and have a good day!

@FabrizioRomano If you play like today (minus the red obviously) you can stay forever, Pep.
