You’ve got an Active Directory lab, now what? Run a free tool called BadBlood, to intentionally misconfigure AD, then… Step 1, FIND all the vulnerabilities Step 2, FIX all the vulnerabilities You will learn a TON about Active Directory by doing this...

Having a strategy and a plan are both free If anything you can get a notebook and a pen for $1-3 to write your ideas out and organize them You have a phone, you have access to many things to boost that strategy and plan Don’t keep saying to yourself that you can’t do it

If you died tomorrow your family could not access a single thing you own digitally. Bank accounts. Crypto. Passwords. Cloud storage. All of it locked permanently. Here is how to fix that in 30 minutes:

You pay Google $10/month to store your files. On Google's servers. Where Google can read them. You pay Dropbox $12/month. On Dropbox's servers. Where Dropbox can read them. You pay Apple $10/month. On Apple's servers. Where Apple can read them. Dropbox was breached in 2024. User emails, hashed passwords, API keys, and OAuth tokens were exposed. There is a tool that syncs your files directly between your own devices. No cloud. No server. No middleman. Ever. It's called Syncthing. 81,900+ stars on GitHub. Your files go directly from one device to another. Peer-to-peer. They never touch a third-party server. Not even Syncthing's. Here's what it does: → Syncs files between any number of devices in real-time. → Peer-to-peer. No central server. Your files go directly between YOUR devices. → TLS encryption with perfect forward secrecy on every connection. → Every device authenticated with a strong cryptographic certificate. → Works over LAN and internet. No port forwarding needed. → Selective folder sharing. Sync different folders with different people. → File versioning. Deleted or changed something? Roll it back. → Runs on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, FreeBSD, Solaris, and more. → Web dashboard to monitor everything from your browser. → No account. No sign-up. Install it. Share a device ID. Done. Here's the wildest part: There is no Syncthing server. There is no Syncthing cloud. There is no company storing your data. The protocol is open and documented. There is nothing between your devices except an encrypted tunnel. Google has shut down 293 products. Dropbox has been breached. iCloud photos have leaked. Every cloud service is one policy change away from scanning everything you store. Syncthing can never shut down your files. Because your files were never on their servers. Dropbox Plus: $12/month. $144/year. Google One 2TB: $10/month. $120/year. iCloud+ 2TB: $10/month. $120/year. Syncthing: $0. Unlimited devices. Unlimited storage. Your hardware. Your files. Forever. 349 contributors. 464 releases. 5,000+ forks. Battle-tested since 2013. Run by the Syncthing Foundation. A Swedish non-profit. MPL-2.0 licensed. Open protocol. Peer-to-peer. Free forever. 100% Open Source.

Today I graduated from Per Scholas, I’m officially an Alumni. The saying “Time is gonna go by anyway, just get it done” is true indeed. I’m thankful for the process and excited for the next chapter ✨

There is this strange phenomena where people new to cybersecurity go way overboard trying to look cool and badass to give the facade of being really technical. I'll tell you something right now. You probably won't like to hear it, but it is important. Nobody cares about: - Your certificates - The conferences you've attended - Your vendor swag - What OS you're using - How many LED's your computer has Here is what your peers admire the most: - If you're polite - If you're willing to admit if you're wrong - If you're easy to get along with If you're just a chill nerd who is nice, easy going, willing to admit when you're wrong, you will go further than the big mean nerd with the galaxy brain

Build your skill triangle You should always have 3 personal skills in rotation: One that makes you money now One that gets you in new rooms One that builds your long term leverage If you are missing some or all, time to work on it

🚨Someone just open sourced a computer that works when the entire internet goes down. It's called Project N.O.M.A.D. A self-contained offline survival server with AI, Wikipedia, maps, medical references, and full education courses. No internet. No cloud. No subscription. It just works. Here's what's packed inside: → A local AI assistant powered by Ollama (works fully offline) → All of Wikipedia, downloadable and searchable → Offline maps of any region you choose → Medical references and survival guides → Full Khan Academy courses with progress tracking → Encryption and data analysis tools via CyberChef → Document upload with semantic search (local RAG) Here's the wildest part: A solar panel, a battery, a mini PC, and a WiFi access point. That's it. That's your entire off-grid knowledge station. 15 to 65 watts of power. Works from a cabin, an RV, a sailboat, or a bunker. Companies sell "prepper drives" with static PDFs for $185. This gives you a full AI brain, an entire encyclopedia, and real courses for free. One command to install. 100% Open Source. Apache 2.0 License.

One exercise I recommend to people is future mapping Sitting down and taking the time to actually map out your wants, needs, and desires against the earning potential of your current skills and timeline for upskilling Sometimes seeing it written out, guides what needs to change
