🚨 IF YOU MISS THE DANGOTE REFINERY IPO, DON’T BLAME VILLAGE PEOPLE. The same Nigerians that queued overnight for fuel will suddenly say “nobody told me” when ownership is on sale. When opportunity comes, vibes won’t save you. Preparation will. Thread 👇🏾 STEP 1 — Get a REAL stockbroker. IPO is primary market. Not your usual buy/sell app flex. You need a registered NGX dealing member like: • CardinalStone Securities • Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers • Meristem Stockbrokers • Cordros Securities • Chapel Hill Denham • Afrinvest Securities Apps are great. But IPO allocation? Different game. STEP 2 — Open your CSCS account. No CSCS number = no shares. Simple. BVN. Valid ID. Passport photo. Bank account. Most brokers set it up in days. Don’t wait until Twitter starts shouting “it has opened!” before you start looking for your passport photograph from 2013 😭 STEP 3 — Start saving NOW. Don’t say “I’ll see when price drops.” Park money weekly in a money market fund. When the IPO window opens, it won’t wait for your salary alert. The people with cash ready will apply calmly. The rest will tweet “Nigeria is rigged.” STEP 4 & 5 — Read the prospectus. Apply early. Not influencer summary. The actual document. IPOs get oversubscribed. Late people get refunds and regret. If you don’t get full allocation, relax. Refund comes back. If you never applied? Nothing returns. Ownership favors the prepared. Years ago people complained fuel was too expensive. Soon, some of those same people might own part of the refinery. This is how wealth shifts…. slowly, quietly, intentionally. When the window opens, will you be ready or watching? Be honest, have you opened your brokerage + CSCS yet?

STEP 3 — Start saving now Don’t wait for the prospectus before you start putting money aside. Open a money market fund or high yield savings account and park money there every week. When the IPO window opens it won’t stay open long. The people who had cash ready will get in. Everybody else will get a sorry email. STEP 4 — Wait for the prospectus This is the official document that tells you everything. Share price. Minimum subscription. How to apply. Timeline. When it drops read it yourself. Don’t depend on Twitter summaries. Read the actual document. STEP 5 — Apply early IPOs get oversubscribed. First movers get allocated. Latecomers get refunds and regret. When the window opens move immediately. Not tomorrow. Not this weekend. Immediately. STEP 6 — Don’t panic if you don’t get full allocation This is normal. If the IPO is oversubscribed you might not get every share you applied for. The money for unallocated shares gets refunded to your account. Standard process. But if you never applied nothing comes back because nothing went out. The window hasn’t opened yet. But by the time it does only two types of people will exist. Those who prepared and those who watched. Don’t watch.
