This CloneX news kind of hit me harder than expected. It made me incredibly sad and heartbroken in a way because at its height, CloneX to me represented what a true Artist community could be. It had the most amazing creators and a great vibe and every CloneX holder I met in person was passionate and good folk. What I realized about this is that to take down the Art and reducing people to holding nothing but a JPEG in a folder also takes away the agency and pride of believing in NFTs. It takes away the memories and emotions of holders because the JPEG is what ties people together wherever they go. It makes me wonder if we should build our ETH NFTs so that the upkeep and hosting is also decentralized and can be forever as long as people want it, like BitTorrent or something. And it also makes me wonder if even the ETH collection should have a representation on Bitcoin because that was literally the original thesis that made us inscribe on Ordinals, we realized that no matter what our Art will be forever on chain that way. This is a brutal reminder that no amount of money or love or support from a community can stop bad actors from destroying what they’ve invested in and built. Let’s do this different moving forward, things must change. NFTs are for the PEOPLE.

I've noticed that scammers have started buying old abandoned defi domains to replace the frontend with drainers so if you're going to some dead defi project to withdraw some money you put there and forgot about, be careful about that
