Europe’s refusal to allow the US to do flyovers and use bases it pays for in this war with Iran also shows why Trump is right about Greenland. Denmark cannot be counted on to defend this strategically vital landmass. It cannot even defend itself let alone a place as large and remote as Greenland. Moreover, when the time comes, the US cannot talk for granted that Denmark will grant permission to use our base in Greenland. As part of an American withdrawal from NATO should be the positioning of sufficient American forces to take Greenland by force if necessary. It is a vital part of American defense strategy and it cannot be trusted to be left with the pusillanimous bureaucrats in Copenhagen.

Sad night last night but today is a brighter day. The ewe (female sheep) on the left lambed a stillborn and we were unable to resuscitate it. She cried most of the night longing for her lamb after we removed it. The ewe on the right lambed twins last week, though they were very small. It seems that today she has given one of her twins to the grieving mother to raise as her own. This is a photo of them together with their new children.
