He has been accused of “anti-Muslim hostility” by a Labour MP and reported to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards. This is a Muslim blasphemy law by the back door. Today, the Free Speech Union has sent a pre-action letter to Steve Reed, threatening judicial review if the definition and guidance are not withdrawn immediately. Hate speech, to me, is encouraging someone to commit an act of violence, vandalism or some other criminal activity. Hate speech is not satire, nor is it mockery, critiquing, asking questions or otherwise questioning religions or ideas. Jokes or analysis, don't matter, it's freedom of thought and expression and it's British.

What exactly constitutes hate speech in his comments? Are we now at the stage where critiquing, attacking, mocking or otherwise constitutes some sort of blasphemy in your mind? What's next? Start Wars? Harry Potter? Allah is as real as Voldemort and we have every right to exercise our freedom of speech and expression.

It suits the agenda of some very wealthy people to demonise Muslims right now, but it’s wrong, it’s grotesquely unfair and Timothy should be prosecuted for hate speech.
